True Confession – My House Girl is Tempting me, What Should I do??

I will simply go straight to the point, as I would not want to give very explicit details about myself. This is for some obvious reasons. My wife is very sharp, I mean, she is such an intelligent woman and can easily trace this true confession to me. For the fact that I love her so much, I cannot let a thing fall in-between us.

That is why I have kept this as top-secret till today; but I will have to let this out of the bag. I’m not oblivious of the fact that most issues of this nature are blamed on the men whom most of us see as womanizers; but mine is a different thing entirely. I’m not a womanizer.

I have tried everything possible to make sure that this girl-my house girl leaves my house, but my wife will always insist she stays. I’m a pastor, but I also work as a civil servant. I would have loved to write further about where I live, but for the same reason why I can’t mention my name, I can’t tell you where I’m writing from.

This young lady was brought to my house by my wife sometimes in 2010, and had just completed her secondary education last year. She is supposed to pick up a form for her higher education because she is related to my wife; distant relation, sort of. Frankly, she has been very good, and has been taking care of my only daughter since my wife put to bed late last year.

Her presence is a big relief to me and wife because we are both very busy people. My wife works with a bank, and sometimes come home around 8-9pm. Lately, this young girl has summoned courage to seduce me; to be sincere, she is tempting me. I often return to the house ahead of my wife.

Sometimes, because of hold-up and other issues, I will get in around 5-6pm. She started by running to embrace me with her transparent-short gown to welcome me each time I knock, on arrival. I was shocked the very day she did that. I felt so embarrassed. “Even if I had traveled to space…hun! This one is just too much… hun!” I soliloquized in my bedroom after she had dropped my office bag and ran out to get my food.

This continued for 3 weeks. Sometimes, her boobs will just slip out of her ‘top’ and she will simply apologize. My wife has never met her on that gown as she wears another cloth when it’s almost time for my wife to return. I have developed double minds about her. I have had different evil thoughts since this whole thing started. The one that happened last was the way she sat facing me, with her legs wide opened.

I left the food that I was eating and walked to the bathroom to do nothing in particular. I had thought she would adjust as soon as I returned, but she didn’t budge. I think I fell into her trap finally that day. I almost had it with her when I grabbed her, and she jumped at me. We started that regrettable romance before God intervened with the sharp cry of my baby.

That was what saved the day. The next day, I had told my wife that we should send her away, but she vehemently refused to accept my suggestion. She had asked me to give some reasons why we should send her away, and I had told her that she was getting so stubborn and lazy; hence, she is as good as no House-help. My wife who claimed she had never experienced that had accused me of formulating things against the lady.

She told me that I wanted her out of the house because I had seen that she will soon secure admission into the higher institution, and I will soon begin to pay for her school fees. I couldn’t tell her the truth, because something tells me it will be disastrous. I just felt I could handle the matter in the most professional way.

But right now, things have gone out of hands since the past 2 weeks. I have done virtually everything that can be considered dirty with her except that I have not done it with her yet. What’s keeping me from doing it is my conscience and for the fact that I can’t do that in my matrimonial home. That sin will be so grievous, I know. She had asked me repeatedly last week if she can meet me in any of the hotels around town this weekend since my wife will be around then.

She has just Saturday and Sunday to take care of her hair and visit friends, and she wants to use that opportunity to have me all to herself. Now, I’m contemplating on this issue. All I need is your advice; Saturday is just 5 days from today, and I can’t make up my mind on what to do. I love my wife, but I think I’m becoming so foolish in the name of being faithful. Please, tell me; should I do it or not?

It has gotten to the level where I cannot tell my wife the truth because she won’t even believe, since I had told her a different story before. She will see it as blackmail. Your reaction will either encourage me or discourage me, even though my mind beats faster, and something tells me to do it. Should I?

Three of 10 Nigerian men are not fathers of their ‘kids’ -DNA expert

Is paternity testing becoming an issue in Nigeria?

We have seen that there is serious need for it because in many homes things are happening that are scary both to the lives of children and their parents. And for the general statistics that is now available, it is found that three out of every ten men are not the fathers of their babies. Similarly, three out of every ten children are not fathered by men they have seen as their biological fathers. What we have found out is that, anytime we take ten men, at least three of them eventually found that they are not the fathers of the children they call their own. And these men would have taken care of the children for all their lives.

Now, the global statistics is 100, 000 out of every 300, 000 men. But what we have found that is that the situation is higher in Nigeria than other places. For example in our laboratory here, 50 per cent of the cases comes out negative. And we also realised that majority of the first-borns are affected. You only need to be here to see big men cry like little kids and watch children weep in agony. It has been that bad. And I dare say it is becoming something every home must do and you may be quite surprised at the level of dastard revelation.

About thirty per cent of fathers are unknowingly bringing up children who are not biologically theirs. And it is suspected that this percentage may be on the increase due to sexual recklessness. According to recent trends in sexual health, especially in Nigeria, it was suggested that unprotected sex and multiple partners are comparatively common occurrences with a large proportion of conceptions still unplanned. So, more than half, that is, 50 per cent of all paternity tests carried out by our lab comes out negative and the most affected are first-borns, except in a few cases.

Do these cases happen mostly in matrimonial settings or in casual relationships?

In both matrimony and casual affiliations! I tell you, we have had series of married men come here and go back home devastated. In one instance, a man came here with his wife. Out of the five children he thought were his own, he discovered that only two belonged to him. And they are both duly married, living together as husband and wife. You see, the major problem we have in our country is that most of these cases are not duly documented. So, people don’t know we have such issues among us. In fact, some even don’t know where to go for the test to determine their child or children’s paternity. And I tell you, if you go to ten homes as we speak, you will be amazed to find that in almost all of them the children there do not belong to the men. It is that rampant.

If it is that rampant, how would you describe the three years since you started testing men?

Now, the general statistics by the American Association of Blood Banks is that globally, 100, 000 out of 300, 000 men are not the actual fathers of their presumed children. And like I said earlier, the Nigerian situation is even alarming. Also, Duess International, the condom manufacturers, once noted that Nigeria has the most reckless sexual life. So, you can then imagine what the outcome would be like if we say okay, let’s start taking statistics one-by-one.

How many families do you attend to each week?

We test about 15 to 20 families. People come here as a result of various types of controversies over the paternity of certain children. You know, families have come to us with claims that a child neither takes after the mother nor the father in looks and character. So, the man of the house would be curious to ascertain facts. And when they come here with such children, the fears of the fathers have often been affirmed. Fathers usually have the doubts; maybe he has been hearing some rumours, and you know, men are often the last to hear such things about themselves. Until many of them come here to take the test, they have nurtured other men’s children before realising it.

What does it take to do a paternity test?

Technology has made it so easy. It is just like any other deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) test. In less than two seconds, we take the sample from the man. We use the Helix Swabs like a “big cotton buds” to extract some cells from the man’s mouth. We rub the ‘Swab’ up-and-down the mouth to get some epithelial cells from around the cheek bone. In the nucleus of every cell, there is DNA. Once we collect that, we purify, extract and then multiply it and get the genetic profile which we then send to DNA laboratory abroad for testing.

What happens in situations where DNA samples do not match as we saw with someDANA victims?

So many reasons could be responsible for that. We have had a case in which a boy went to an hospital to claim the body of his deceased dad and on testing him, it was found that he was not fathered by the dead man. The genetic profile of the boy does not match with that of the man he claimed to be his father. And DNAs don’t lie. The medical experts conducting these tests have nothing personal against the people that come to them for testing. Every human being take half of the genetic profile from either parent. Therefore, it is a matter of case closed if the genetic profile of the living does not match with that of the dead man. He is simply not that father.

I Caught my husband Cheating, Should I Cheat on him TOO?

I discovered a few months back that my husband slept with another lady. This was less than 2months after our second child, and 2 months to our fourth year wedding anniversary. To say that I was deeply hurt is putting it mildly…. I wept like never before and some of my thoughts included divorce and even suicide.

When I confronted him, he opened up and told me it was just a one-night stand and apologised for his actions. I forgave him (or looking back now, so I thought), but the whole event still plays in my mind/head and I just feel a surge of hatred all over again.

I think what makes it worse is the fact that in spite of all that happened, I am the one who’s trying to put things right (reading books, etc) and my hubby just seems to be all engrossed in his work and all, and never wants to re-visit the issue; like all is/was well.

We are both Christians but I need to confess that sometimes I feel that getting even may make me feel better ‘cos the lady is white and we’re both from Kenyans (I feel he just wanted some adventure)… It’s really eating me up as I still have a lot of questions to ask but he doesn’t like talking about it, saying it’s not easy for him…I hope I’ll get some closure here… Thank you and God bless.

OMG: 14-Year-Old Girl Strangles Her Newborn Baby(A MUST READ)

A pregnant fourteen-year-old girl secretly delivered her baby with a pair of scissors in the family bathroom before throttling the boy to death and hiding the body in a shoe box. Cassidy Goodison, 14, has been charged as an adult with first degree murder after police learned how she killed her child following months of fearfully disguising her pregnancy from her mother and father.

Her harrowing case has shocked even experienced officers and graphically illustrates the problems of the 750,000 teenage Americans who fall pregnant every year. Goodison went into labor in her home in Greenbrier Village, Florida on September 19 and instead of calling for help, disguised her screams of pain by running the tap and gripping a towel between her teeth as she sat on the toilet. After prising the 9.5lb boy form her body with a pair of scissors, she felt for a pulse and then strangled the boy to death and hid his corpse in a shoe box with dirty laundry.

Three days later, as Teresa Goodson cleaned her daughter’s room, a foul odour drew her attention to a pile of soiled, wet clothes in which she found the deceased infant hidden in a box. An autopsy performed determined the victim was a full term infant and that he was alive and breathing prior to death. He died as a result of asphyxia from strangulation and blunt force trauma. Miss Goodson had gone to great lengths to hide the transformation of her 5ft 3in 100lb body during pregnancy, according to Polk County officials.

Throughout the summer, as she walked around in baggy sweat pant and loose-fitting T-shirts. Members of her family grew suspicious of her appearance and attempted to discuss the possibility she was pregnant with the teen’s mother. But Mrs Goodson denied the suggestions, said the report, claiming that she had made her daughter do two home tests, albeit in the privacy of her bathroom, which both came out negative.

Husband Timothy Goodson agreed meanwhile that he had noticed Miss Goodson’s weight gain and that she had been walking around at home wrapped in a blanket. An interview with the teenager on September 22 revealed that after the 14-year-old had delivered the 9.5lb, 20.4in boy into the toilet, she had felt for a pulse and then strangled him to death. Confirming he was dead by once again checking his pulse, she then cleaned herself and the baby and tucked the evidence out of sight. Shortly after, however, Mrs Goodson noticed blood in the toilet she knew had been recently used by her daughter so took her to Lakeland Regional Medical Center.

There medical staff treating the high school student told Mrs Goodson that she had suffered a miscarriage and showed four to five lacerations on her v*g*nal wall. Though these injuries were in reality self-inflicted when the teenager had pried the baby out of her with a pair of scissors, she falsely confessed to her mother that she had indeed had a miscarriage at home and flushed the fetus down the toilet by mistake.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies, along with members of the Department of Children and Families responded to a call from the hospital reporting the case and details were retained by the PCSO Bureau of Criminal Investigations for follow up investigations. According to the Sheriff’s Office affidavit, on the evening of September 22, at approximately 7.30pm, Mrs Goodson removed a bag of smelly, wet clothing from a storage stool in her daughter’s bedroom.

While sorting through the clothing she found the body of the baby concealed in the shoe box. In a panic, Mrs Goodson called her sisters who in turn alerted the police. Miss Goodson told detectives she was motivated to hide her pregnancy and choke the baby ‘to stop him from breathing,’ by the fear that her relationship with her parents would change if they found out the truth.

Miss Goodson was arrested on Thursday and transported first to the Juvenile Assessment Center and then to the Polk County Juvenile Detention Facility. She is charged with Premeditated First Degree Murder, a capital felony and Aggravated Child Abuse, a first degree felony. Polk County Public Information officer, Donna Wood, told MailOnline: This is the most perplexing, confusing, disheartening case I’ve ever seen in my 18 years on this job. Everyone has been touched by it.’

Black Sunday in Lagos: Military weapons robbers used under probe

The recovered arms and ammunition
Shocked by the sophisticated weapons recovered from suspects arrested in connection with the Sunday, September 9, robbery in Lagos, (a day already tagged BLACK SUNDAY) security forces are set to launch investigations into the source of the arms. Some of the weapons, especially rocket launchers and general purpose machine guns, Sunday Vanguard can authoritatively reveal, are normally used by the military.

Seven persons, among them three policemen, were killed by the robbers who struck in different parts of the state. The arrested suspects and recovered arms were paraded by the police last week. Lagos State police commissioner, Mr. Umar Manko, told newsmen at the weekend, that the day of robbery was a bad day in Lagos.

Sources in Lagos and Abuja said the security services are interested in finding out how the suspected robbers came about the ammunition. “Certainly, we want to know how they came about the arms and ammunition”, one of the sources explained.

According to the source, the security agencies are making efforts to find the source of the weapons. He went on: “To have found that large quantity of sophisticated weapons in the hands of people who are not supposed to have them, we felt very surprised because these weapons are meant to be found in the hands of people who are supposed to defend the territorial integrity of this country.

If they are found in the hands of criminals whose primary purpose is to destroy, one who has the responsibility of enforcing the law will not be happy about it and if I tell you we weren’t shocked about the arms, I am telling you a lie because I couldn’t imagine criminals having that kind of arms in their possession, including rocket launchers and general purpose machine guns and high caliber weapons that are not ordinarily used by security operatives”.

Newsmen was made to understand that the arms, after investigation, will return to the service they came from. Another source stated: “The step we will take first is to identify the sources of these arms. All the arms have numbers. Maybe at one time or the other, they were allocated to some security officers. We will try to locate those which came from the services and we will return them to the services. And by the time we finish with that, those we can not identify the source, of course, will be destroyed. There are procedures for that”.

Lagos State police commissioner, who spoke exclusively to Sunday Vanguard, said his men were on the trail of other suspects in the Lagos robbery who are still on the run. Manko’s words: “We will make efforts to get them and we are already making efforts to get them. I hardly beat my chest. People only need to be patient with us. When the robbery happened, we told you that it wasn’t going to take us time to arrest the master minds.

By the grace of Allah, today, we have some of them. Those who are still on the run we are going to get them wherever they are. They might be at large now but their arrest will mean a lot to residents of the state and security agents. We will not go to bed. We will go after the robbers with all our strength”. On what the police are doing to make Lagos safe, he said, “We are doing all we can to checkmate criminals, but that is not the duty of the police alone. It is the duty of everyone in the state.

I think it is the responsibility of everyone in the state to look out for criminals and arms and alert the security agencies. In Lagos State, we are collaborating with all the security agencies to ensure that we secure the residents. So, it is a task, a very huge one for that matter for security agencies in Lagos to ensure that we checkmate criminals”.

Public concern is growing in Bayelsa State over the health of Governor Seriake Dickson. According to reliable sources, the governor had been absent from the state for over three weeks fuelling speculations that his health condition has taken a negative turn.

While some said Dickson was flown to the United Kingdom to be treated of an undisclosed ailment, those close to him are insisting the governor took time off to rest, barely one year in office.

However, the truth is getting clearer as there are indication that Dickson may miss all the activities lined up for the Independence Day and the 16th anniversary celebration for the creation of the state.

Shocking U-turn: Pilgrims not deported – Hajj Commission

The National Hajj Commission (NAHCON) has described as untrue reports that female Muslim pilgrims who were airlifted back to Nigeria last week were deported by the Saudi Arabian government. Instead, the commission said the sudden return of the female pilgrims was at the instance of Nigerian government, which wanted to rectify certain anomalies.

It said Nigeria has not violated any Saudi Arabian law to warrant deportation of the pilgrims. Addressing a press briefing in Abuja yesterday, the Chairman of NAHCON, Mallam Mohammed Musa Bello, reiterated that the issue of a male companion for female pilgrims to the kingdom is a fundamental aspect of the hajj exercise which Nigeria cannot afford to violate.

He said that the Federal Government delegation to Saudi Arabia was also not denied visa to the kingdom noting that the issue of the departure of the delegation has to do with the disparity in timing between the two countries.

This was as he said that the suspended airlifting operation of the pilgrims would resume as soon as all the challenges that led to the problem are addressed. He added that eight states with 32 flight schedules are on standby to commence operation when the challenges are sorted out.

He gave assurance that all the pilgrims would be airlifted before the October 20 closing date of the King Abdulazeez International Airport Jeddah and Madinah airport, saying the approved air carriers for the operation, Max Airline, Mediview, Meridiene and Kabo airlines, are all set to commence airlifting.

Senior Immigration Officer Working For Boko Haram Arrested

The resolve of Nigeria's security agencies to flush out the dreaded Islamic sect, Boko Haram from parts of the North, yielded more fruits culminating in the arrest of agents of the terrorist group in some paramilitary agencies Among those arrested in the latest onslaught was Ahmed Grema Mohammed, a top immigration officer whose confessions led to the arrest of others who have been carrying attacks on government officials across some States of the North.

According to the Spokesman of the JTF, Lt. Colonel Sagir Musa, those already apprehended are some security personnel who have been carrying out attacks in Borno and Yobe which he said was a major breakthrough in their efforts at flushing out insiders in the security forces collaborating with the deadly groups.

A Statement by Musa said that those arrested have confessed to being active members of the Boko Haram sect who joined the sect well before the 2009 crisis and received a lot of training in and outside the country.

He said that Grema also confessed to have been trained alongside 15 other members of the sect on weapon handling, assassinations and special operations in Niger Republic.

Musa said Grema was arrested at a checkpoint on his way to Maiduguri while impersonating as a Nigeria Army lieutenant. He further said during the trip Grema had planned killing a former special adviser to the immediate governor of Borno state.

He also disclosed that Grema had equally confessed to the killings of some senior civil servants, security agencies and politicians in Yobe and Borno States who spoke against the activities of the sect, including the slain former chairman of Damboa LGA, Alhaji Lawal Kawu. Grema was also among those that led attacks on Yobe Police Command, Damaturu Prison, some primary schools, among others.

Nigerians are UK's 4th biggest foreign spenders

Article written by Susannah Butter for Standard UK

Every year, Simi Osomo (pictured above) makes six trips to London from Nigeria. The 25-year-old spends about two weeks here and every day she goes shopping. Today she’s at the boutique shop Matches Townhouse in Marylebone with a personal shopper.

“When it comes to shopping and Nigerians, I can tell you it’s just what we have to do,” she tells me while admiring the patterned dresses. For Nigerians, London is a shopping mecca. Visitors from the West African country are the UK’s fourth biggest foreign spenders, parting with an average of £500 in each luxury shop they visit — four times what UK shoppers typically spend.

When I ask Osomo how much a two-week shopping trip in London costs she makes a bashful face. “Ooh, should I really be saying this? It depends, but most times about £5,000.” Osomo is wearing a green top from Zara that’s “the colour of the Nigerian flag”, blue skinny jeans and new Christian Louboutin shoes.

Later today she’s going to buy an iPhone 5 for her sister. “You can get lots of things in Lagos but they are cheaper here and you get to take a holiday and relax a bit. It’s only six hours away.” The number of Nigerian visitors to the UK increased by more than 50 per cent to 142,000 a year between 1991 and 2011, according to the Office for National Statistics. Nigeria is projected to become Africa’s biggest economy by next year and the world’s fifth most populous country by 2050, and London is cashing in.

Debenhams’ Oxford Street branch has put up signs in Hausa, one of the official Nigerian languages, and said customers from this part of West Africa are its biggest overseas spenders. Yet Osomo says it’s not just rich Nigerians who come over. “Middle-class people can afford to come and spend £600 on shopping in a week here. What I like about the UK is that it doesn’t discriminate. As long as you’re able to prove you have an income, accommodation in London and a return ticket, the authorities are more than willing to give you a visa.

It’s closer than America and the customer service here is phenomenal.” Back home in Lagos, the technology market has been flooded with fake products from China, which means more people are coming to London for electronic goods and are even taking items back to sell. “No one wants to spend more than 100,000 naira (£390) and find out it is fake, so they prefer to come over for a holiday and buy something they know is real and has a guarantee in case something goes wrong.”

Marks & Spencer is one of Osomo’s favourite shops. “I love their fajitas. You can’t get them in Nigeria. I also buy soy sauce and Thai green curry paste, which is good because it lasts for a long time. Oh, and Crunchy Nut cereal, Skittles, Maltesers and tea. There’s nothing like a British cuppa. I get Lipton, PG and green tea.”

She likes the variety of London. “I love Zara, H&M, Topshop. But if I want something more high end, there’s Sloane Street.” More than £3 billion a year is spent on high-end goods in London, according to the London Luxury Quarter Report, and it predicts this will rise to £4.5 billion by 2020, with new shops including Burberry’s flagship fuelling the trend. Luxury concierge services are also popular. Osomo is a client of Quintessentially, which organises shopping trips and parties for her and has an office in Lagos.

Although summer is the height of the shopping season, Osomo likes to come back for the January sales too. Her mother, a lawyer, and father, a businessman, often join her. She has just finished a law degree and is about to start a job in fashion journalism, which she hopes will give her enough holidays for trips to London. But flights can get booked up quickly.

“You don’t want to get the Lagos to London flight in July. It’s packed with parents and their kids making noise.” Return flights at high season start at about £369. But what about getting her haul of shopping back from London to Lagos? That, says Osomo, is costly. “All I pack when I come over is one pair of jeans and three tops. I bring two big suitcases but I always have to get another one and pay for excess baggage.

I never learn.” British Airways has increased its excess baggage charge on flights from London to Lagos from £40 to £97 per suitcase in the past year. “They must have realised we always put an extra bag in and thought they’d try to make money out of it,” says Osomo. Fashion-wise, she still picks up the odd item in Nigeria.

Six months ago Zara opened an outlet store in Lagos, and Mango has been there for about a year. “Zara is affordable because it’s an outlet but what I find is that things are a bit last season. Nigeria’s hot all the time so there are always maxi dresses and swimwear but the colours are boring and we lack variety.

Customer service is not great and some shops can get really crowded, which is challenging.” There is a burgeoning online shopping industry in Nigeria too. Currently, ASOS is the only shop that ships to Lagos free of charge and everyone Osomo’s age uses it.

“Nigeria is a fun place, I’d encourage people to go. Shopping is evolving. In five years I think a lot of stores will come to Nigeria because there is a gap in the market. Ten years ago I never thought Zara would come to Nigeria. I believe in the next five years we will catch up. But I still love London and won’t stop coming here.”

Meet the teenage girl who has transformed herself into a living cartoon character

With her enormous, glassy eyes, purple hair and coquettish pose, this girl could have stepped from the scene of a Japanese anime film. Anime fan Anastasiya Shpagina has transformed herself into a living cartoon character, complete with miniature waist, vividly-coloured hair, and a defined pout.

Originally from the Ukraine, the 19-year-old takes style inspiration from the cartoons and computer animations that have a huge following in Japan, and has even adopted a Japanese name - Fukkacumi.

Anime characters often feature huge eyes and heads that are disproportionately large in comparison to their body. Shpagina, who is just 5ft2ins tall, is already reported to have slimmed down to just over six stone in her attempts to resemble a living anime character, and is said to spend 30 minutes painstakingly applying her dramatic make-up to each one of her eyes.

It is thought Shpagina may go even further in her efforts to achieve her desired look, with some reports claiming she intends to undergo surgery on her eyes to make her resemble her anime idols even more closely.

How I Launder Billions For 20 Powerful Nigerians –Boy Arrested With $7million

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested a suspected bulk currency courier, Abubakar Tijani Sheriff, for attempting to smuggle $7million out of the country.

Converted at the rate of N156 to a dollar, the money totals N1.1 billion. The commission also said that the suspect had confessed to being a money courier for no fewer than twenty powerful individuals in the country.

The 24-year-old, according to a statement from the commission, was arrested at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos en route Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Sheriff is said to have been apprehended by EFCC operatives at the point of boarding a plane. The statement further said the suspect was being detained at the commission’s holding facility in Lagos, pending his arraignment in court.

Upon his arrest, the suspect was said to have declared that he had a total sum of $4.5million on him but thorough screening and search showed that he was actually carrying $7,049,444.

He later confessed that he is a courier for twenty individuals who hired him to courier the money for them to Dubai.

The statement reads in part: “Investigations by the EFCC showed that Sheriff is a regular traveller and one of several couriers of illegal cash suspected to be proceeds of crime. His claims in respect of his accomplices are still being investigated by the commission.

“Travellers leaving the country are statutorily required to declare cash in excess of $10,000. However, it is not sufficient to declare excess cash, under the provisions of the Money Laundering Act, the onus is on the person making the declaration to explain the source of the excess cash and the reason for the export.

“Experience has shown that bulk cash smuggling, the world over, are usually associated with proceeds of crime as legitimately earned funds are usually processed through the banking system.

“Our experience in the last few years indicates an emerging trend of bulk cash smuggling to Europe, Middle East and North America with the attendant consequence for capital flight.

“Some Nigerian citizens are routinely arrested at airports in Europe and North American for currency smuggling though no such arrests have been recorded in the Middle East. But in all cases, the money is lost as they are never repatriated back to the country.

“The Commission warns travellers who for any reason want to move bulk cash out of the country to do so through the banking system. Otherwise, they must be prepared to declare it and explain the source of the money.”

President Jonathan Is A Product Of A Very Corrupt Process

Dr. Omolade Adunbi is a political anthropologist and an Assistant Professor at the Center for Afroamerican and African Studies (DAAS), University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan, U.S.A. In this interview with Chido Onumah, he examines corruption, the national question, and political violence in Nigeria amongst other national issues.

How would you rate President Jonathan’s fight against corruption?

Is President Jonathan fighting corruption? I am not sure he is. Jonathan is a product of a very corrupt process and such a person lacks the capacity to fight corruption. In Nigeria, corruption has become an institution and it is highly destructive. Corruption as an institution will make sure that other institutions that could help strengthen the nation are weakened. This is the only way it can continue to thrive. Of course you also have the beneficiaries like Jonathan and others who might feel threatened if there is a serious war on corruption. The bottom-line is that if we succeed in fighting or destroying institutional corruption, then we could say we are on our way to strengthening institutions of the state. As things stand today, we do not have a state but what we have is Nigeria in name and not a Nigerian state. Strong institutions are what make a state and not name recognition. So, Nigeria is just a hanging on to name recognition and crying for serious help and Jonathan does not have the capacity to render the kind of help that Nigeria needs.

INCREDIBLE!! Petroleum Minister Is Lounging In Two 5-Star New York Hotels With Our Money!!

Investigations by SaharaReporters revealed that Nigeria’s Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, booked and paid for two rooms in two separate high-cost hotels during the four nights she spent in New York City during the just concluded United Nations General Assembly.

Impeccable sources within the Presidency and the delegation of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) disclosed that the minister’s two rooms were booked under a pseudonym.

Saharareporters discovered that Joe Mordi, one of the minister’s closest aides who works at the NNPC office in London, booked her into a one-bedroom suite at Four Seasons Hotel located at 57 East 57th Street, New York.

When SaharaReporters inquired at the hotel, a staff said that the suite cost $5,000 per night. Ms. Alison-Madueke, who is known around Presidency circles as “Prime Minister,” was also booked into another room at the Pierre Hotel on 2 East 61st Street in New York where President Goodluck Jonathan lodged during his stay in New York.

SaharaReporters found out that her room on the 28th floor of the Pierre Hotel cost Nigerian tax payers $3,000 per night.

There were also additional charges in taxes and service fees. Ms. Alison-Madueke arrived in New York in style on a private jet on Monday from London where she had made a brief stop to continue treatment for an undisclosed ailment. She is billed to return to London today. President Jonathan left New York last night around 6:00 p.m. and has arrived in Nigeria very early today.

SaharaReporters also learnt that, apart from the lavish double accommodation enjoyed by the Petroleum minister in two of New York City’s most expensive hotels, her delegation of seven NNPC officials also engaged in other acts of reckless spending.

“The NNPC hired ten limousines to ferry its 7 officials, including the General Managing Director,” said our source.

Five of the limousines, rented for $1,800 each per day, were stationed permanently in front of the Pierre Hotel while another five were put to the service of the NNPC officials at the Four Seasons.

Nigerian couple tried to claim £3.8m in ‘eye watering’ benefits scam using 1,400 identities

Adeola Thomas, left, was jailed for seven years while his accomplice Abimbola Abiola, right, was locked up for two-and-a-half years for charges relating to identity theft, tax and benefits fraud

A Nigerian couple who tried to claim £3.8million in an ‘eye-watering’ benefits scam using 1,400 stolen identities have been jailed for a total of almost 10 years. Adeola Thomas, 38, assisted by his partner, Abimbola Abiola, 34, managed to pocket £87,000 after submitting almost 2,500 handwritten applications for tax credits and benefits. The pair spent the money on designer clothing and electrical items including a 50-inch plasma television.

But the fraud was discovered when benefits staff noticed the same address was being used for multiple claims, Snaresbrook Crown Court heard. Thomas, an illegal immigrant, was jailed for seven years while Abiola, also a Nigerian national with leave to remain in the UK, received two-and-a-half years.

Passing sentence, Judge William Kennedy said: ‘This was no less than a criminal industry, with simple and eye watering criminality designed to maximise the loss to the public.

‘It was a difficult investigation carried out with skill and tenacity. ‘The largest single joint conspiracy [of its kind] for these departments and the actual loss was kept down because of the work of both departments.’

Judge Kennedy also indicated that both Thomas and Abiola should be deported at the end of their prison terms. The pair, who carried out the scam between January 3, 2007 and October 7, 2011, tried to claim £827,000 from HMRC, securing £43,000.

They also claimed £3 million from the Department of Work and Pensions and received £44,000. With Abiola’s help, Thomas used stolen personal details to complete 2,495 handwritten application forms, which were sent to the appropriate departments for processing.

BIZARRE!!! Man,27 Cuts Off His Own Hands To Prevent Him From Stealing (PHOTO)

According to the bible, if your eyes will lead you to sin, pluck it out! and that is exactly what Egyptian, Ali Afifi did only he didn’t pluck out his eyes but cut off his hands from his wrists. Ali took the severe decision following his inability to stop stealing and the feeling of guilt that comes over him after every act of theft.

In a situation he described as a ‘battle pitched’ against the devil, Afifi, 27, went to the main train station in the western Egyptian town of Tanta four years ago and waited for the train to approach where he was before dipping his hands under its wheels as hundreds of other train passengers watched in horror.

Following the shock of what happened, Afifi’s father sent him to an assylum. Following his release, Afifi sought the help of a local Islamic scholar to assist in chopping off the other wrist but the man refused citing the fact that he was not a ruler nor in a position to make that decision. Rather, the Islamic scholar advised him to repent and seek God’s help.

Left with no other choice, Afifi decided to carry out the act by himself. According to him (Afifi), “when I was finally released from the assylum a few months ago, I cut the other hand off to make sure I’ll never steal again.

Saudi Arabia Ignores Presidency, Deports More Nigerian Women

In apparent defiance of Nigeria’s ultimatum, Saudi Arabia has deported 510 female pilgrims. The deportees, mainly from Sokoto, Jigawa and Kano states, arrived at the Kano International Airport at about 8.30pm on Wednesday, aboard a Meridian Airline flight.

The female returnees were among the Nigerian women pilgrims for the 2012 hajj detained in Medina and Jeddah for not having male escorts while trying to enter Mecca.

Vice President Namadi Sambo had on Wednesday summoned the Saudi Ambassador to Nigeria, Khaled O.Y. Abdrabuh, to register the Federal Government’s displeasure over the incident. Sambo also gave Saudi Arabia a 24-hour ultimatum to redress the situation.

Spokesman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, Mallam Uba Mana, said those brought back were a part of 1020 earlier detained by the Saudi officials at the King Fahd Airport.

Mana was however silent on the fate of others who were still detained in Saudi Arabia. He said the commission hoped that the Federal Government at the Presidency level would soon settle the matter which is already threatening the diplomatic relationship between the two countries.

“We are awaiting a response from the King of Saudi Arabia so that a discussion can be opened between the two parties. We strongly believe that there is hope in sight, we hope that shortly the whole thing would be resolved,” Mana said.

Police Corporal To Die By Hanging For K**lling 3-yr Old Girl

An Ikeja High Court presided over by Justice Olabisi Akinlade has sentenced a 35-year old Police Corporal, Okechukwu Nwabueze, to death for k**lling a three-year old girl, Kaosara Muritala three years ago in Lagos, southwest Nigeria. Okechukwu was alleged to have shot and k**lled the girl on 5 April, 2009 at a police check point located at Obanle-Aro near Mr. Biggs in Alapere, Ketu.

Three witnesses including the deceased father, a police officer and Professor John Obafunwa, a pathologist testified against the accused person. Delivering Judgment in the matter today, Justice Akinlade held that the prosecution had proved the case against the former police officer beyond reasonable doubt.

The Judge noted that in his defence the convict gave contradictory account of what happened on the fateful day but admitted that he expended two rounds of ammunition that day. The judge also noted that the convict claimed that he shot into the air to scare the driver of the car who allegedly refused to stop.

In his testimony, the deceased father claimed that the police never stopped them and that he only heard a gunshot few metres away from the checkpoint. In her final judgment, Justice Akinlade upheld the case of the prosecution and subsequently sentenced Corporal Okechukwu Nwabueze to d**ath by hanging.
