Tomb Raiders Dig up more than 100 Graves in Benin Cemetery in Search of Human Organs

As a lot of people might be thinking, Benin being referred to here is the West African country and not the capital of Edo State in Nigeria. The tomb raiders have reportedly dug up more than 100 graves at a cemetery in Benin since Saturday for what authorities suspect is a black-market trade in human organs and skulls for voodoo ritual fetishes.
This incident is considered the most serious case of grave-robbing in the West African state which is believed to be the world capital of voodoo; where most of the country’s 9 million residents practice a benign form of the official religion.
Authorities in Dangbo, a village 10 km (6 miles) from the capital Porto-Novo, began an investigation after a mason working at the cemetery said he spotted several masked men digging up the graves, from which organs and skulls were removed. “The desecration of graves is about money in this region,” said Joseph Afaton, director of the cemetery. “It is for sacrifices, or for bewitching.”
In this part of the continent, body parts of humans and rare animals are prized by some people for their supposed supernatural powers, and are used in occult ceremonies. Traffickers often obtain human remains from grave robbers, but a recent spate of killings has also been linked to the gruesome trade.

Nigerian basketball player shot dead 'after trying to rob a home in Texas'

29 year old Chinedu Onyeuku, a former D'Tigers of Nigeria player, was shot dead in an alleged botched burglary in a home in Texas on November 21.

Police say Chinedu, who played for the Nigerian team that qualified for this year's Olympic Games in London, was trying to break into a home on Rio Grande Street in Plano, Texas with an accomplice when he was shot dead by the home owner.

Chinedu and another individual allegedly entered the house by breaking the glass patio door. The home owner shot Chinedu, killing him instantly, while his accomplice escaped.

The Nigeria Basketball Federation posted a statement saying that the 29-year-old athlete played basketball for the team that qualified for the London 2012 Olympics. However, Onyeuku was not on the Olympic roster and did not actually compete.

Traffic Law: Fashola Arrests Police Officer Riding Okada

The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola yesterday arrested a police officer, identified as Ebahan Johnson, who violated the new traffic law by riding his 100 CC commercial motorcycle popularly called Okada on the Agege Motor Road, Ikeja.
The governor accosted the police officer on the expressway during an inspection tour of ongoing projects in the Lagos-West Senatorial District of the state, while riding a red Bajaj motorcycle.
The officer who resisted arrest earlier, succumbed when he realised that he was accosted by the governor, who had warned that Okada should not ply the express road with a motorcycle with such capacity and without helmet. Fashola on the arrest said: “There is no one that is above the law. If anyone cannot submit itself to the law of the state, then that person should please leave the state.” He warned that the state government would not condone violation of the road traffic law of the state, which was signed into law to bring sanity back to road transportation.
He said: “There is no society where laws are not broken, but the state government will increase its enforcement for residents to comply with. And as we move on the road and we see any one violating the law, we will stop and arrest them.” On the officer, the governor stated that the officer would be handed over to the Commissioner of Police, Umar Mankko for proper prosecution.
“I am sure he would be prosecuted,” Fashola stated. Meanwhile, hundreds of traders of Katangowa, Agbado-Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area, (LCDA),urged the state government to halt its plan to relocate the market for the construction of the new Lagos State Digital Village presently located in Ikeja Area of Lagos.

Terrorism: Army To Kick Civilians Out Of Barracks

THE military has commenced the mass eviction of civilians from barracks across the country, Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika, said on Thursday.

The eviction of non-soldiers from  barracks is coming on the heels of two successful attacks  by suspected terrorists in the first two days of this week.
Two car bombers had on Sunday struck at the St. Andrew Military Protestant Church inside the prestigious Armed Forces Command and Staff College,  in Jaji, near Kaduna. The college  houses the officers and men of the Infantry Centre and School as well as  the Nigerian Army Peace Keeping Centre .
Also on Monday, gunmen, numbering 40, launched an attack on the office of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad in Abuja, where suspects were being held. Two policemen and one of the gunmen were killed in the incident.
Ihejirika said at the closing of the Chief of Army Staff Annual Conference in Asaba, Delta State, that he had already issued a directive to commanders in charge of military formations to take immediate action in ridding the military formations of illegal occupants.
The COAS also warned that the leadership of the Army would ensure that reported lapses were treated decisively.
He said, “That one (purging the barracks of illegal occupants) is obvious. I have already informed the commanders and they know. The commanders would not wait for the Chief of Army Staff before taking action. Rather, from next week, I want to see action in respect of illegal squatters and similar things.”
The Commander in charge of Army Engineering, Maj. Gen. Olaniyi, who took the last presentation at the conference, had called attention to the fact that barracks being rehabilitated were accommodating a large number of civilians in places like the Ikeja Cantonment and Asaba.
Olaniyi, who said that the Ojo Cantonment had become haven for criminals, warned that unless decisive steps were taken, even foreigners would be more than soldiers in some rehabilitated barracks.
He had said that the number of civilians living in the cantonment was even more than that of soldiers.
Ihejirika insisted that the bombing at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College was avoidable, stressing that absence a perimeter fence did not offer any commander an excuse to allow such an  incident to happen.
He said that about 80 of the barracks in the country had not been fenced and urged the commanders to put in their best in the area of intelligence gathering and security maintenance.
Meanwhile, Ihejirika has promised Nigerians “a more comprehensive action by the military and all the security agencies” in 2013.
He said that the military would be decisive in 2013, stressing that it was part of the decision of the conference that unit commanders  must pay  more attention to effective liaison, supervision and monitoring of personnel under them.
The COAS said, “Nigerians should expect more comprehensive action by the military and all the security agencies. Part of the decisions arrived at is that unit commanders should liaise more and they should supervise and monitor their personnel more closely than they had done in the past. So 2013 would be decisive.”
He said that the Nigerian Army had been collaborating with other security agencies, including the Nigerian Police, the Nigerian Intelligence Agency and foreign bodies to enhance intelligence  gathering  and dissemination.
He said the conference also agreed on the need for “national intelligence fusion” to enhance intelligence gathering.
He said, “The conference also emphasised the need for national intelligence fusion. What it means is that all the various measures are going to be fast tracked to ensure that intelligence is further enhanced.
“And you should know that it is a running battle because the people you are fighting are people within the country. So they know what measures you are even taking. They know that. So that is why I also drew the attention of commanders to devise new tactics in dealing with the problem.
“Certain groups are going to be set up too to monitor the commanders in the field and, no mistake about it, command responsibility is one area we will emphasise more next year.”
Ihejirika also ordered the painting of all operational vehicles of the Nigerian Army donated by state governments, corporate bodies, in Army colour.
He also said that the different uniforms of the Army should be used only for authorised specified activities.
Also on Thursday,   the  Agence France Presse  reported that  Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, had expressed solidarity with global jihadists, saying the United States and Britain “should witness that we are with our mujahedeen brothers.”
Shekau, in the  39-minute video posted on jihadists forum, was quoted to have said in Arabic that,”The world should witness, and America, Britain, Nigeria and other crusaders, meaning America and Britain, should witness, and the Jews of Israel who are killing the Muslims in Palestine should witness… that we are with our mujahedeen brothers in the cause of Allah everywhere.”

Pr*st*t*te Screams, Escapes From Hotel Room N**k**d After Seeing Size Of Her Client’s M**nh***d

For a woman of the night who operates in the 24-hour booming economy that is Mtwapa, the sight of a foreigner is always inviting, since most are said not to be as tight-fisted as the locals.

And if the foreigner has a car, his premium rises because the hustles of getting into a matatu early in the morning or in the middle of the day are eliminated. Besides, they pay lavishly, including taxi fare, and are not unknown to throw in a decent meal and drinks. Even better is that they could fall in love and sweeten the deal with a wedding ring.

But for one s**x worker, the foreigner she met turned out be more than she had bargained for, causing her to flee from lady luck in her birthday suit.

The night had been ‘dry’ for her so the pick-up had taken place past 6am, meaning that their entrance into the hotel was noticed by the workers streaming in for their daytime shift and those leaving. Being the norm at these hotels, no one paid much attention to her skimpy dress, understanding that for her, it was just another day at the office.

“About 15 minutes after their entrance, we heard a woman screaming from somewhere inside the building,” said a front-desk attendant at the hotel.

But before they could act, a naked woman bolted down the stairs and sprinted past the reception screaming, her clothes and shoes in her hands. She did not stop running until she was outside the hotel compound.

“Then a white man came out in his underwear, stood at the reception, looked at the running woman and burst into loud laughter,” said the attendant, who had checked-in the tourist the day before. In response to the curious glances from hotel staff, other guests and a few beach boys who were around, he said, ‘But I had not even started’,” the attendant conferred.

Meanwhile, the woman was in pains to explain what had transpired back in that expensive room to taxi operators outside the hotel. A small crowd had also gathered out of the blue, with the journalistic oriented amongst them using their mobile phones to capture the image for posterity.

“I have been in this business for more than ten years but I have never encountered what I saw inside that room. That man is too ‘big’ for life!” she said amid gasps of air.

“If I had not run away, I would have been dead within minutes or required stitches to repair the damage. That white men is no joke” she offered as the crowd went wild with laughter.

She, however, had no intention of refunding the tourist, saying she needed to be compensated for ‘shock’. “I readily agreed to his offer. I got into his car and we headed for a nice hotel, ” said the visibly distraught woman to the tuk-tuk operators who offered her comfort after her ordeal.

Does ‘LOL’ Really Mean ‘Lucifer Our Lord’?

When we “laugh out loud” online, are we really praying to Satan, the prince of darkness himself?

The answer is no, but an image posted by a user on the social news site Reddit is warning the Internet otherwise.

According to the directive, which is meant to be shared “with Christians,” the classic and ubiquitous “LOL” acronym stands for “Lucifer our lord,” something the image’s creator doesn’t find funny at all.

“BEWARE: Stop using the abbreviation ‘LOL,’” the hastily made image that invokes the same qualities as a Westboro Baptist Church sign reads. “‘LOL stands for ‘Lucifer our Lord.’ Satanists end their prayers by saying Lucifer our Lord,’ in short, “LOL.’ Every time you type ‘LOL’ you are endorsing Satan.”

If the warning, posted by Redditor DkryptX, in the “atheism” subreddit, were true, there would be a lot of Satanists on Twitter.

“I met the prime minister in overalls lol,” pop star Justin Bieber tweeted from Instagram in one such example. Columnist Roland Martin also has a habit of ending his tweets with “LOL.”

“Can someone please tell him that YOLO means ‘Youth Obeying Lucifer’s Orders?”" joked another Reddit user. Fans of the rapper Drake might disagree. The former star of the TV series “Degrassi: The Next Generation” popularized the “you only live once” acronym recently.

Still, the image warns “Do not use ‘LOL ever again!”

Other sarcastic comments on Reddit repurposed “swag” to mean “Satan’s wishes are granted,” “ROFL” as “rise, our father Lucifer,” and “BRB” as “Beelzebub rules below.” Who knew that saving keystrokes was such a devilish pursuit?

To most people, however, ROFL means “rolling on floor laughing” and BRB is simply “be right back.”

For language prudes, the outing of these “real” definitions may come as a relief. According to commenters the Reddit thread, WTF isn’t an offensive question at all. It really means “worship the fallen.”

There are still some 'bad eggs' in the baking industry who relishes in getting rich quick through fraudulent transactions on innocent customers accounts. "My Lawyer and my family went to the bank and requested the picture of the person that collected the money. Skye Bank (in a bid to protect its staff) printed two different faces which are unclear and nobody can see the face.

Ritualists Disguise As Beggars At Abuja Carnival… Steal Vital Body Organs

Are you a good samaritan who makes it a habit to give out alms to beggars whenever you sight them? You might want to apply wisdom and caution especially, as some of these ‘beggars’ are agents of evil who do not care about your good deeds.

According to a programme monitored by our correspondent on Silverbird’s Rythm 94.7FM Abuja, ritualists took advantage of the just concluded Cultural/Tourism Fiesta in Abuja Tagged, ‘Abuja Carnival 2012 – Carnival of Peace and Harmony’, to perpetrate their evil plans.
These ungodly people disguised as beggars seeking alms from unsuspecting carnival attendees, to unexplainably steal their sight and vital body organs.
One of such incidences occured last Saturday, when a woman supposedly gave alms to a beggar who approached her in the front passenger’s seat of her husband’s car, only for her to discover that she couldn’t see with her eyes anymore.
She immediately raised alarm which attracted sympathizers including policemen and together with her husband, they apprehended the said beggar. After much prodding, the beggar reportedly revealed that he was part of a larger cartel of beggars who were at the carnival with instructions to carry out ritual acts.
When asked what could be done to reinstate the woman’s sight, the beggar reportedly gave the woman back her money and asked her to rub same on her eyes and voila! Her sight was instantly restored.

‘How My Daughter’s Fiancé Bathed Her With Acid’(PHOTO)

The motive behind the acid bath of 22-year-old Chika Egbo by her estranged lover, David Sulaimon, remains elusive, but one thing is sure, the victim may not remain the same again.

The substance Sulaimon allegedly poured on her had destroyed every visible skin from her chest upwards. She has become a shadow of the beautiful girl she was.

Chika is a student of the Enugu State College of Education.

Last Tuesday, when our correspondent visited her at the Burns Unit of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, she mumbled to her father, a Taraba State-based businessman, as she could neither see nor speak properly at the time.

When her father, Matthew Egbo, narrated the incident that led to Chika’s state, the story brought tears to his eyes as he lamented that his daughter would never be normal again.

Matthew said, “In March 2011, someone who identified himself as Lekan Sulaimon called me, asking for my daughter’s hand in marriage. We talked a lot and I promised to speak with Chika on the issue.

“My daughter later told me he was the boy she was in love with and said she had resolved to marry him.”

After much discussion, Matthew told Sulaimon to bring his parents for proper introduction, but the suitor said his father was ill and needed to be taken abroad for treatment. He also said his mother was abroad.

Matthew said, “On the June 25 date that we agreed on, Sulaimon brought seven men and four women dressed in Yoruba attire to my hometown, Enugu, where we held the introduction.

“But around November last year, my wife travelled from Taraba to Enugu and Chika told her she was pregnant.”

According to Matthew, Chika told her parents they should not be alarmed since she and Sulaiman had agreed to get married.

Chika was instructed to go to Lagos and tell Sulaiman’s relations about the pregnancy.

But when she got back from Lagos, Chika told her father that she discovered that most of what Sulaiman had told her about his parents were lies.

Matthew explained, “For instance, Chika discovered that Sulaimon’s father was hale and hearty. The father told her he was not aware of any plans by his son to get married.

“She also learnt that the mother was not abroad too. She visited her and she told us the woman received her well and even expressed joy that his son had found someone to marry.

“But after the visit, we heard nothing from neither Sulaimon nor his parents until after my daughter gave birth to a baby girl on May 4.

Our correspondent learnt that Chika had broached the idea of abortion to her parents, as she told them it was apparent that the man she was in love with had lied to her all along.

Matthew forbade her to consider abortion. After the baby was born, Chika was said to have informed Sulaimon, but he gave series of excuses why he could not visit her.

He reportedly told her he was facing some challenges and did not have the wherewithal to take care of the baby at the moment.

After a few months, Chika’s baby girl was weaned and taken to Taraba to live with Matthew and his wife.

The Egbos said they took the decision to take the baby off their daughter’s hands so that she could continue her study.

PUNCH Metro learnt that in November, Sulaimon began to request that he needed to see his baby, but Matthew told him to bring his parents to come and iron things out.

Chika was said to have insisted she did not want to have anything to do with the young man anymore.

But on November 5, Chika travelled to Lagos after Sulaimon had informed her that his mother wanted to see her. The unsuspecting girl left Enugu without informing her parents.

“My phone just rang that day and I was told to come to Lagos because a young man had poured acid on my daughter,” Chika’s father said.

Matthew said the message came as a rude shock since he was not aware his daughter went to Lagos. He explained that the police were the ones who got his number from her phone.

He said,“What I learnt was that when she arrived Igando, Lagos, Sulaimon met her and she demanded that he should take her to his mother who wanted to see her.

“What we gathered from the little she could mumble to us was that Sulaimon went behind a house and as they were about to pick an okada to his mother’s house, he brought out a polythene.

“But when they stopped at a point and Chika thought they were going to proceed to his mother’s house, he just opened a container in the polythene he was carrying and emptied its content on her head.

“She told us when she realised that what Sulaimon poured on her had began eating into her skin, she raised the alarm and called for help.”

PUNCH Metro learnt that passersby and sympathisers, who had been alerted to the young woman’s plight, pursued the fleeing Sulaimon. He was caught and taken to Ikotun Police Station.

“Till now, I still don’t know why he did what he did,” Matthew said.

Divisional Police Officer of Ikotun, Mr. Augustin Akika, confirmed the incident, but said the suspect had been transferred to the state Criminal Investigations Department, Yaba.

6 Injured In Lagos Bus Mishap

Six people were yesterday injured in an accident involving A LAGBUS with registration number KSF 76 XA and a commercial vehicle with registration number XC 595 JGB at about 7:30 am under Carter Bridge, Ebute-Ero, Lagos, reports say.
The driver of the LAG bus whose recklessness witnesses believed caused the accident was detained at the Ebute-Ero police Division while the injured passengers were taken to the General Hospital, Broad Street, Lagos.
According to a witness, the driver of the LAG bus drove recklessly. “He (LAG Bus driver) stopped for some passengers to alight under the bridge, and when he was about to move, he did not indicate to the commercial bus which was coming with speed. The commercial bus hit the LAGBUS from the rear,” the witness said, adding that all the injured passengers were in the commercial bus.
A Police source who confirmed the accident but opted for anonymity said the route number of the LAGBUS is A012 — Ikorodu, Ketu, Oworo and CMS.
The accident started panic among Lagosians as it had been earlier rumoured that a fully loaded BRT bus plunged into the Lagoon from the Third Mainland Bridge, but the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the BRT and LAGBUS authorities denied the report. [PM]

Lagos police arrest suspected serial murderer, robber

The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended Ibrahim Balogun, a 25-year-old man accused of perpetrating a series of murders in Somolu, Bariga and Fadeyi in the state.

PUNCH Metro had reported on June 25, 2012, that Balogun also known as Small Jpron, was declared wanted following a gang-related violence between Shaggy Boys and Downtown Boys which left at least five people dead in Ilaje, Bariga.

Balogun, who also goes by the pseudonym, Asarailu, which means death in Arabic, is said to be the deputy gang leader of Downtown Boys and a member of a sect, Eiye Confraternity also known as EFCC Boys.

PUNCH Metro learnt that Balogun was arrested on Bawahala Street near Pedro Police Station on Saturday.

A reliable police source narrated the circumstances that led to Balogun’s arrest to our correspondent.
He said, “On Friday, around 11:30am, Yusuf Adebowale, a resident of Somolu, took a commercial motorcycle to FirstBank branch in Fadeyi to withdraw N100, 000. As he was withdrawing the money from ATM, the okada rider, later identified as Dare, informed Balogun and his gang.

“As Adebowale left the bank, just a few metres away, Balogun and three other gang members attacked  him and stole the money, phone and a wristwatch.

“Adebowale reported the matter at Onipanu Police Station and also told youths in the area about his ordeal. Less than an hour later, Dare, the okada rider, was apprehended by residents and taken to the  police station where he confessed.

“Later that night, he led us to Balogun’s hideout but Balogun was not around. One of the policemen, identified as Abu, however released Dare without authorisation.”

Our correspondent learnt that the following day, around 11:30am, Balogun and four others allegedly went to rob residents of Bawahala Street and a woman alerted the police.

The police source said, “In broad daylight, Balogun and four gang members, heavily armed, went to rob. We received a distress call and policemen headed by Inspector Smart, rushed down to the scene.
“The four others escaped but Balogun was arrested and taken to Pedro Police Station where he identified himself as Ibrahim Oriyomi Folarin.”

Our correspondent learnt that the policemen could not identify Balogun even though the police had declared him wanted. However, scores of residents stormed the police station and quickly identified him.

It was learnt that there was pandemonium at the station as residents who had fallen victims to Balogun and his gang asked the police to hand him over.
Youths in the area were said to have brought a tyre and petrol which they threatened to set the suspect ablaze.

But the Special Anti-Robbery Squad took Balogun away and this restored normalcy to the station.
When contacted, the spokesperson for the state police command, Ngozi Braide, confirmed the incident to our correspondent on the telephone.

She said Balogun had been on police wanted list for a long time.
“I just spoke to the officer in charge of SARS and he confirmed the incident to me. He said the suspect (Balogun) is accused of murders, attempted murders and robberies,” she said.

62-Year-Old Lecturer Drowns Stepdaughter For Refusing To Sleep With Him

The 62-year-old retired lecturer, Dr Ayoola Oyesiji, who drowned his stepdaughter in a bucket of water on the evening of Friday, 16 November, has been charged to court on a one-count charge of murder on Wednesday November 21.

A source gathered that the doctor’s case was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Iyaganku, on Tuesday from Agugu Division where it was initially reported. The case, which was heard by the Magistrate in Court 8, was adjourned to January 8, 2013 while she ordered that the accused be remanded in Agodi prison until further hearing.

Dr Oyesiji was arrested for killing his stepdaughter, Aishat Mohammed by dipping her head in a half-filled bucket of water. The Source spoke with the suspect shortly after his arrest, and his wife. Below are the excerpts:

Doctor Oyesiji What do you do for a living? I used to be a medical practitioner. I retired on June 30, this year, as a lecturer from the University of Ilorin. I am not practising for now. I am just waiting to go into other things. What is your area of specialisation? General surgery.

Are you married? Yes. My legal wife is outside of Nigeria while I have a younger wife taking care of me. My legal wife and I are divorced but we have four children. I married my younger wife last year December.

How did you meet her? She lives close to my family house at Atipe area of Ibadan. I used to see her during my visits to the area. What happened between you and the lady on Friday, November 16? We had a row. She stays in my family house where I used to go and see her from my residence at Ogbere area of Ibadan. I went on Friday and she said she would not stay at home with me, that she was going to her friend’s room next door. I told her that I would not be able to take care of her two-year-old daughter and the baby she has for me alone.

The girl and my baby were sleeping.  To control the movement of the little girl, I put her in a bucket. I did not know there was water in the bucket. The mother was shouting  about the place. All of a sudden, a crowd of about eight people came and started beating me. My eyeglasses broke and I was later brought to the police station.

What were you accused you of? They complained that both of us had been troublesome in that area. I tried to force them out by shutting the door but they pushed hard against it and wounded me on my toes.

Did you injure the little girl? No, I did not. I am not the type that beats children. I learnt that the girl was sleeping when you carried her. That is correct. I did not want her to interfere in what was going by running around. There was so much noise around and I wanted to prevent what could cause a major damage.

Your young wife said that by the time you came to her yesterday (Friday November 16), you were drunk. Yes.

What type of drink? I took some table wine, Bacchus to be precise. I took just the small bottle.

Knowing that you were drunk, why did you get to the level of injuring your stepdaughter? It was alcohol-induced.

I learnt that the actual cause of your row was your sexual advance towards her which she rebuffed. Yes, that is true. She even agreed but I decided not to go on because of the heat I was feeling. Actually, I started having sex with her about three weeks before this incident. •••••••••••••••

 His wife, Barakat Akeem
What circumstance led to the birth of the deceased child and how did you meet doctor? I was impregnated by a teacher. At first, he stayed with me in a room he rented for me but one day, he packed his belongings and left, saying he was no longer interested in me. I moved back to my grandparents’ place where I delivered my baby in 2010. I met Doctor when he used to come to his family house at Atipe, which was just across the road passing through my grandparents’ house. He used to crack jokes with my grandfather and he later told him  that he would take care of me, as he had heard of all I passed through. My grandfather pointed his attention to my baby but he promised to take care of me. He used to give me and my daughter N1,500 weekly for feeding. Then he used to come home from Ilorin. I was given a room in his family house, where I later got pregnant with his child.

How frequent were your quarrels with Doctor? We did not use to quarrel except the times he was drunk. Anytime he was drunk, he would start quarrelling with everyone, threatening to burn the house and accusing everyone of hating him.

What led to the death of your daughter? He was drunk as usual. He came around and later went out for a ceremony. He took N1,000 to Oje area, where he went to have a drink. He came back and asked me for money. I gave him N200. He left and came back again, asking for more money for transport, I gave him N100. He still came back and said he was no longer going back to his house, saying that he would sleep at Atipe that night. I asked what he would like to eat and he told me to get him amala. I did. He came and said he wanted to sleep.

My first daughter was already asleep while the younger one was with my neighbour who used to carry her. He asked me to come in for sex and I refused, telling him my baby was still small. Though we had had sex about two times, he told me he wanted me to get pregnant. Also that day, I was about concluding my menses but I knew that if I told him, he would not listen because he was drunk. He dragged me with force but I pushed him away and ran out.

My wrapper got loose in the process but I did not wait. I went to take a wrapper from someone in our compound. I came back and people followed me. I begged them to help me bring my daughter out, unknown to me that Doctor had already drowned her in a bucket of water. People rushed in and asked him of the whereabouts of my daughter but he kept replying them that she was inside the well.

They went in search of the girl in the well but could not find her. Someone just beamed light towards the bucket. That was how we found my daughter  head down in the bucket of water, with her legs sticking out. People screamed that the girl was dead. We rushed her to the hospital but she was confirmed dead.

You won’t believe this woman is 70 years old (PHOTOS)

They say ‘black don’t crack’ but 70-year-old Annette Larkins might have found the secret to eternal youth, only hers doesn’t imply using growth hormones and testosterone.

Thanks to the diet and lifestyle she maintains, she looks so young that people mistake her to be the daughter, when she’s out with her husband of 54 years.

So what’s the secret?

Larkins says the secret to her beauty lies in the raw vegan diet, consisting of organic vegetables, fruits, seeds and nuts grown in her own garden, she calls the ‘fountain of youth’.

Believe it or not but Larkins doesn’t touch anything that has been cooked. And another strange thing she does is collect rainwater, to keep her garden blossoming, but also to drink.

This is a lifestyle she picked up when she decided to stop eating meatas her husband used to own a meat factory way back in the 1960s.

At first, Larkins was just looking for a few health benefits and never anticipated that she would look like a 40-year-old at the age of 70. In the 27 years that she has been eating raw, Larkins has written two booklets called Journey to Health and also produced a DVD containing all her healthy secrets.

Her husband wishes he had followed her example, because now he looks much, much older and also suffers from diabetes and high blood pressure. He takes prescription medicine every day, but Annette doesn’t even take an aspirin.

Minister Blames Nigeria’s Darkness On Evil Spirit

In a rather shocking admission on the cause of Nigeria’s incessant power outage, the minister of state for power, Hajiya Zainab Kuchi yesterday, told a group of South African investors that evil spirits were preventing the country from achieving sustainable electricity supply.

While addressing members of the African National Congress (ANC), the South African Ruling Party, which was on a working visit to the country in her Abuja office, the minister said, “We must resolve to jointly exorcise the evil spirit behind this darkness and allow this nation take its pride of peace in the comity of Nations.”
The minister in a statement by the Deputy Director/Head of Press of the ministry, Greyne Anosike, said, “Nigeria needs help, any nation that loves Nigeria must collaborate with it now to resolve her energy crisis…We are getting irritatingly slow.”
She told the delegation that Nigeria has a structured response to her power challenges with a Roadmap it is implementing with care and diligence and asked them to study the power sector roadmap and come up with their specific area of interest, assuring that there were a lot of gaps to be filled in the sector.
The Minister said that work had reached various stages of completion in rehabilitating some of the moribund power stations scattered across the country pointing out that, the revival of the abandoned power projects was critical in lifting the sector as billions of funds had been sunk into them.
While expressing confidence in the present administration’s determination to break the jinx in the power sector, the minister said, “It would amount to lavish diseconomy to embark on new project and abandon the old ones in which huge tax payers resources had been sunk.”

PHOTO: The girl who must eat every 15 minutes to stay alive

Lizzie Velasquez has a rare and undiagnosed syndrome that prevents her from putting on weightMiss Velasquez has a rare condition which prevents her from gaining weight even though she eats up to 60 small meals a day.

Despite consuming between 5,000 and 8,000 calories daily, the communications student, has never tipped over 4st 3lbs.
“I weigh myself regularly and if I gain even one pound I get really excited,” said 5ft 2 ins Miss Velasquez, who wears size triple zero clothes.
“I eat every 15-20 minutes to keep my energy levels up.
She was born four weeks prematurely weighing just 2lb 10oz. Doctors found there was minimal amniotic fluid protecting her in the womb.
“They told us they had no idea how she could have survived,” said Miss Velasquez’s mother Rita, 45, a church secretary.
Doctors speculated Lizzie might have the genetic disorder De Barsy syndrome but soon ruled it out as it became clear she did not have learning difficulties.
“They kept on trying to figure out what was wrong with her but we treated her like any other child,” said Mrs Velasquez, who charted her daughter’s health in dozens of notebooks.
She was taken to see genetic experts but they still could not diagnose her.
Miss Velasquez’s case has fascinated doctors all over the world and she is part of a genetic study run by Professor Abhimanyu Garg, MD, at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
Professor Garg and his team now believe Lizzie may have a form of Neonatal Progeroid Syndrome (NPS) which causes accelerated ageing, fat loss from the face and body, and tissue degeneration. People with PRS often have triangular and prematurely aged faces with a pointy nose.
He said: “I am aware of a small number of people that have similar conditions to Lizzie but each case is slightly different.
“We cannot predict what will happen to Lizzie in the future as the medical community are yet to document older people with NPS.
“However Lizzie is lucky to have healthy teeth, organs and bones so the outlook is good. We will continue to study her case and learn from her.” Miss Velasquez has helped to write a book about her incredible experiences.
It is due to be released in September.
