I DID NOT REQUEST FOR ARMOURED VEHICLES – ODUAH

According to ongoing report, the Aviation minister Stella Oduah currently embroiled in a N255 million automobile purchase scandal said she did not at any point in time request for the said cars.
The minister, who as at the time of filing this report was still answering questions from the House of Representatives committee on Aviation, said though NCAA has needs for new operational vehicles, she insists the armoured cars were not meant for her but for foreign dignitaries.
“Nothing in the stated documents mentioned my name. I did not request for any vehicles. All I did was to approve the purchase, subject to the agency doing the needful. NCAA followed due process as required by law.
“The Federal ministry of aviation under my watch has always ensured we act in a prudent manner and under the ambit of the law” Oduah defended.
Oduah referred to the cars purchased as the “needs” of the NCAA in its quarterly budgeting.
“It is not true, cannot be true that NCAA bought bullet proof vehicles for honourable minister of aviation. My understanding is that what NCAA has done is to plan for its vehicle needs for the next three years under the Medium Term Expenditure Framework”.
She also took a swipe at numerous online publications saying their allegations were not substantiated but based on the “erroneous” comment of her aide who initially admitted to the alleged purchase.

Mujidat, mother of five was caught by a high Chief, Babatunde Balogun a member of the community when she was trying to dispose the baby at about 5p.m on Wednesday.

According to IReporters, after seeing his girlfriend with another man, Sudan-born Khalid Abdullah cornered a stranger in an alley and held a blade to her neck in a jealousy fueled assault.

Khalid told the woman, in her 30s, that he ‘needed sex’ before putting his hand over her mouth and telling her to keep quiet.

However, Abdullah, 35, was unable to carry out the rape and told her: ‘It’s my first time, I’m sorry.’

He gave the terrified woman his phone and said: ‘Call the police, you can call the police, call the police now.’

The lady fled but Abdullah caught her and told her he ‘wanted to kill all women’ after catching his girlfriend being unfaithful.

She managed to reach her home in Peterborough, and raised the alarm. Abdullah was later identified through CCTV.

After a week-long trial at Peterborough Crown Court, he was convicted of attempted rape.

Judge Nic Madge jailed him for eight years and described the attack as ‘every woman’s worst nightmare’.

‘Whether due to the amount you had drunk or for some other reason, you were not successful in having s*xual intercourse, clearly that was your intention,” the judge told him.

‘You did not succeed in penetrating her and she did not suffer any physical injuries, but this was an absolutely terrifying experience.

‘It is every woman’s worst nightmare. The victim was terrified because of your anger and unpredictability.’

‘Abdullah is clearly a dangerous individual and we are pleased he is now behind bars for a significant period of time,’ detective Constable Louise Spinks said.

BEWARE!!! : Human Hair Weaves With Worms From Dead People Now On Sale

As pathetic as this story sounds, people might think it’s untrue but it is a real life story.

It reportedly happened to a lady in Nairobi, Kenya recently.

Irene Myangoh works as a PA for a Nairobi-based law firm. On this fateful day, she went to a popular salon along Kenyatta Avenue and spent over 2944 KES an approximate of 5,500 Naira on a special human hair weave.

Her hair was nicely done as usual. Unfortunately for Irene, she started suffering from a severe headache with 14 days of visiting the salon.

When the severe headache refused to leave, she went to a doctor who prescribed drugs for her. After using the prescribed medicine, the headache got even worse than before.

Desperate to find a solution to her problem, Irene went to see a specialist who did blood tests and even a brain scan.

All the tests were negative but the headache persisted, making her unable to concentrate at work and sleeping very poorly. She went back to her doctor who decided to examine her scalp and under the beautiful weave he found worms!

The worms were burrowing into her skull and after sending the samples to the lab they found that the hair had eggs from which the worms had Irene had to shave after this ordeal and took antibiotics for two weeks. Elsewhere, 16-year-old girl from Buruburu, a Nairobi surburb, also suffered the same fate but unfortunately for her she died. Cobweb eggs were found in her hair after she died.

There was a profound cobweb design in her weaved hair. She dropped dead after constant headaches. The root cause? The weave had unnoticed spider eggs.

The warmth produced after weaving provided a very conducive environment for the eggs to hatch. A spider grew in her scalp and bit her. The poison found its way to her blood. She could not survive the attack.

Warning to all women, beware what you put on your head.

Yes beauty is pain but you don’t have to subject yourself to needless torture all in the name of beauty.

Jonathan Places Stella Oduah On "Suspension"

I guess this is what everyone has been waiting for, opening the news day and night just to see what actions will ne taken against this woman, well the president has done something. read up.

Following startling revelations from the National Assembly probe in the Stella saga, President Goodluck Jonathan, it appears, has finally placed the embattled Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah, on what is described as a "tactical suspension", pending the submission his probe panel report.

“Oduah will not be allowed to attend public functions that will have the President in attendance until the three-member committee set up to investigate the matter turns in its report.”A reliable Presidency source said Jonathan decided on the 'tactical suspension' hours before the signing of the Bilateral Air Service Agreement between Nigeria and Israel on Monday.

Recalled that the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Aviation, George Ossi, told the House of Representatives Committee probing Stella Oduah that she led a Nigerian delegation to Israel to sign the BASA. But that did not happen as she was rendered a mere spectator.

It was the ‘suspension’ that made Jonathan to direct the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Viola Onwuliri, to sign the agreement instead of Oduah on behalf of Nigeria.

In what seemed a corroboration of the “tactical suspension,” the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Mr. Ahmed Gulak, insisted that Jonathan would not associate with or shield anybody found to be corrupt. He told Punch that Stella Oduah is not even part of Jonathan's delegates.

“Did you see them (Jonathan and the minister) together in Israel? The President will not associate or shield anybody found to be corrupt,” Gulak said.

Meanwhile, the ruling Peoples Democratic Party said on Tuesday that it was worried by the bulletproof car scandal. Surprisingly, PDP assured Nigerians that whoever was found culpable would face the law because it (PDP) would never condone any form of graft.

Nigerian Lady Faked her death After Stealing From A Ghanaian Friend

Jessica In Blue(left) and Ruth In White(right)
I saw this article on Stella's blog, and was so touched. The extent of the deceit and mistrust is the reason people don't help one another anymore for fear of been duped or taken advantaged of. Yes, this is just a story from one party, we hope Ruth would reply or come after reading this.
Read Story below:
Am Jessica Shalom Torkornoo from Ghana. A friend from Nigeria introduced your blog to me.  She asked me to send my story to you that you will be kind to help me out.

I schooled and grew up in Nigeria. My family relocated to Ghana in 2006. I am a fashion designer with my own company, JESSICATORKS CLOTHING. Early this year, i placed an advert on my page for workers, tailors and a personal assistance to be specific. Then i got a message from an old school mate of mine, Ruth Abu.(Christ the King International School, Gbagada) that she wants to work in the fashion industry and working with me will be a privilege so i offered to help.

She came to Ghana in may 2013 and stayed in a guest house for two weeks. After which she tried looking for a permanent accommodation due to mounting bills at the guest house, but she had no money. As a result she had to resort to sleeping in my shop awaiting money her boyfriend was supposed to send her for rent. I was very unhappy about it so i spoke with my parent about it.
This paved way for her to enjoy the safety and comfort of sharing my room with me,including feeding, just for a couple of weeks. This turned into months and gradual became acceptable, automatically making her a part of my family.
Jessica left while Ruth right

In September, i decided to rent a place for myself and some other worker of mine, including Ruth. This was part of my expansion drive for my company and workers in general, who might have problems. We finally got a place big enough for all of us. We made a part payment.

The day we where going to make the final payment, we noticed there was a problem with the house which we did not notice at first. There was hence a refund of the initial payment, which was to be used to secure a more suitable place. This task was left to Ruth to execute.
She finally got a new place. Payment was on the 15/10/2013. But i could not make it because i hard another appointment. Unfortunately, she could not make the payment that day.

Only for me to ask for the money on 16/10/2013 . 7, 200 Ghana cedis in total and 5000 was missing out of the money. We tried searching for the money in the house but there was no luck. All her actions and the story of how the money  got missing became very suspicious.

I  Insisted i needed the money to secure the house so i don't loose it.  Then she offered to help in getting the money. That she called her mother to transfer the money. We waited till the day she promised the transfer will be done, which was 18/10/2013. Nothing happened. Then asked for Monday to do the transfer which should have been 21/102013. Only for use to go church on Sunday, 20/10/2013, she told me she was going to buy chewing gum.

we have not seen Ruth Abu till date leaving her bag in the church with me. When i got home and opened her bag, she hard her cloth and everything you can think of for a trip. It done on me she hard run away with my money leaving all her cloth in my room. I tried getting all her document to see if i can get through to her parents, i realised all her documents were gone as well. Please, i just need your platform to help in locating her.

I considered her a sister. Came calling for my help here in Ghana, i didn't hesitate. I gave her a job and accommodation till she decided to disappear with thousands of money intended for the expansion of the company i put years of sacrifices and sweat in.
This are my contacts if any body has any information that could help in locating her please.do help. +233 0206710122. 0269612757.  you can find me on facebook as  Jessica shalom torks.

Please i have attached photos of Ruth Abu . Age, 26.
i know you will want to get the facts of this story straight before you put it on your platform. Please contact me if you have any questions. God bless you.

I Never Slapped Or Attacked Any Priest – Sen. Chris Ngige

It's good to know that the same source that posted that Sen. Chris Ngige slapped a priest is the same posting that he didn't do it oh.The senator and APC candidate in the November 16 Governorship election in Anambra State, Dr. Chris Nwabueze Ngige has described as false reports that he slapped a priest during Friday’s burial ceremony of the mother of the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor at Nanka in Orumba North Local Government area of Anambra State.

Sen. Ngige noted that with Anambra State gubernatorial elections were getting closer, all sorts of rumours would be flying around.

He dismissed the unbelievable story through the Director on Media and Publicity in his Campaign Organisation, Chief Charles Amilo.
“Someone who was in All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) once paid heavily to create the fiction that Ngige was pelted with stones in Awka, but time and the flow of information proved him wrong,” Chief Amilo said.

“Ngige has nothing to do with what they are twisting, but we do not blame opponents who are so afraid that they would destroy the billboards of another and fabricate lies against them. Being a Knight of the St. John’s International, one of the highest Orders in the Catholic Church, Senator Ngige has no business arguing with a priest and in a church premises; so no person should believe that story”, Chief Amilo added.

Choir Member Leads Kidnap Gang To Abduct Church Member's Son

Evil and strange things happen but you wouldn't expect this act of kidnapping to happen in the house of God and more interestingly led by a member of  choir on another church member.
Israel Ekwuruibe is a devout catholic. Aside attending church regularly, he was a member of the choir at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Finima in Bonny, Rivers State.

On Sunday, September 29, he went to church and sat on the choir pew, using his baritone voice to sing praises to God.
But deep within him was a sinister plan that had been conceived along with five others to kidnap the little son of a church member for a ransom. As soon as he sighted the car of their target, Israel made a sign to other gang members who were also within the church building, pretending to be genuine worshippers. The other suspects were Ifeanyi, the gang leader, Godswill Bernard, Loveday Anakwuru, Ogechi Nwosu (also a church member) and Odinaka Gabriel.
Before anyone knew what was happening, little James (not real name) was nowhere to be found. Israel and other gang members found their way out of the church but it did not take long before their evil deed became exposed. They were picked one by one in Finima. The leader, who had gone as far as Akwa Ibom State with the child, was apprehended along the way by the military joint task force before any ransom could be collected.

This was how the Rivers State Police Command recently thwarted the plans of a kidnap gang, which thought it would make cool millions from a staff of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), Bonny (names withheld) by kidnapping his three-year-old son.

Crime Reports gathered that the kidnapped boy’s father reported at the Finima Division that he could not find his three-year-old son while in church. At about 3.45p.m., the man was said to have returned to the station, saying that someone called him with number 07010806571 and demanded for N15million as ransom. The Divisional Police Officer in charge of the division, Mohammed Suleiman Baba, a Superintendent of Police, reportedly swung into action while asking the man to play along by saying that he only had N50,000.

The Commissioner of Police, Mbu Joseph Mbu reportedly put the entire command at alert while the anti-kidnapping section of the command also went to work. At about 7.30p.m., Crime Reports learnt that operatives from Finima Division, assisted by the Finima Youth Congress, arrested Loveday, Godswill and Odinaka based on suspicion that they knew something about the kidnap.

Police investigation eventually revealed that Ifeanyi was the gang leader.
However, a joint task force of the Army and the police intercepted and arrested him along Akwa-Ibom-Port Harcourt road and rescued the child from him.
It was said that police investigations also revealed that Israel and Ogechi were the ones who brought the idea of kidnapping the son of the LNG staff who attended the same church with them.
In an interview with Crime Reports, Godswill Bernard (20), from Akwa Ibom State, said the kidnap idea was sold to him by Ifeanyi who was a fellow okada rider. According to Godswill, “I never knew he was involved in kidnapping. He started talking to me, saying that God would use the rich to bless the poor if they do not realize that what they are doing is bad. He promised to help me. I didn’t understand the meaning then.

“In September, Ifeanyi told me that I would soon understand all he was telling me in parables. One day, he invited me to a gathering and introduced me to Israel, one of the six men he was discussing with. Israel was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, Finima. They were all speaking Igbo. It was that night that I knew Ifeanyi was planning kidnapping.

“On Sunday, September 29, we went to the church. I was told that a girl who is a member of the church would bring a young boy out. Israel was in the church. I didn’t know when Ifeanyi’s girlfriend, Chukwuodi, carried the boy but immediately I saw the child’s mother looking for him, I knew our gang had struck.”
In his own words, Odinaka (22) from Abia State, a father of three children, said “I had never been involved in kidnapping. This is my first time. It was because there was nothing to do except the okada job. I am an orphan and have no one to take care of me.

I was invited to Israel’s house one day by fellow okada riders and they started discussing about the issue. Though I sat with them, I didn’t show interest. I did not even follow them but I was told that I would be given something if they could get a ransom.”
Ogechi (26) also disclosed that “Israel had once called me to introduce the idea of kidnapping a church member’s child but I told him I could not do it. This time, he called me again and said I should join them, telling me that he did not like the job I was doing. I replied him that I was not complaining.
“He said that I would help them carry the child out since children in the church are close to me. I told him I could not do it because people would have noticed the child with me. He volunteered to do it but Ifeanyi said he could not do it, promising to bring his girlfriend to do the job.
“I didn’t tell the church authorities because they were threatening me and I was so scared. That was where I displayed foolishness. I was not the one who gave them the child.”
On his involvement, Israel Ekwuruibe (30), also an okada rider, said “I was among the gang but they had already planned the job. Ifeanyi, Odinaka, Loveday and Godswill came to me before I introduced Ogechi to them.
“On the day we carried out the job, I was on the choir stand and I attended both first and second services. I didn’t know who actually brought the child out but it was Ogechi who described the vehicle that the parents of our target used to bring to church. When they came, I was the one who pointed the vehicle to Godswill. I was in my house when police came to arrest me later.”
Also, Loveday Anakwuru (25) told Crime Reports: “I am also a member of the church. It was not my intention to join in evil plan but I did so out of frustration. I am an orphan and there was nobody to help me.”
Confirming the arrest, the Police Public Relations Officer in Rivers State, Lawan Usman, told Crime Reports that the suspects were still being investigated. He attributed the success of the police in rescuing the kidnapped victim to prompt report made by the father.

Nigerian Governor Arrests His Wife, The First Lady

Clara Chime, the First Lady of Enugu State, says her husband Governor Sullivan Chime, has placed her under house arrest, and has cried out for assistance to reach human rights bodies to rescue her.

In a letter dripping with pain and suffering, Mrs. Chime disclosed that she married Mr. Chime in October 2008 but that she has been unable to share the matrimonial bed with him for over four years.

Describing her desperate situation, she said that even President Goodluck Jonathan and First Lady Patience Jonathan have intervened with her husband without success.

“My father is late, my Mum and few of my siblings are confused and have done all kinds of prayers they know of, 3 of my siblings prefers me dead than to see me leave the Government house.  He treats my Mum and my siblings bad,” she wrote.

The Enugu State First Lady said she has been introduced to two psychiatrists whose names she gave as Dr. Onwukwe and Dr. Agumo, who have prescribed “all kinds of drugs that ends up keeping me acute depressed and also drives me into hallucinations.”

The doctors, she noted, are scared of her husband the Governor, to whom nobody can tell the truth.
According to the letter, the Catholic Bishop of Enugu state (Callistus Onaga), and top priests have come to intervene, as have the President and the First Lady of the nation, without success.
Mrs. Chime further complains that Governor Chime has ordered her to leave with her four-year old son whom she conceived before their wedding.  However, the governor, according to her, later threatened to disown the boy should she leave with him.

“He has told everyone he can reach that there is no marriage between us that I can leave if I wish to but whenever I plan to leave he instructs them to lock me in.  I have told him through Sms that I will leave my son behind and leave alone but still he instructed
his securities to lock me inside the house.”

Mrs. Chime further complains she has lost touch with the real world and all that makes her beautiful because of the side effects of the drugs she is taking, stressing that she is under house arrest for committing no crime.

Of the situation in Government House, she said, “He does not take care of me personally, the government gives me allowance to run the house and that's where I save little from to take care of my elf, my Mum and few of my siblings,” she said in the letter.  He shut me out of his life years ago; I don't have access to his apartment. The problem is enormous; I don't know where to start to explain from.”

She said that even the security detail in the lodge has resorted to praying for her, while the few that can be bought with money are taking advantage of the situation.

“Police and SS men have been instructed by Br Sullivan Chime to confine me in a place for a long time now against my wish [but] it is my wish to leave these premises,” she said, begging, “Please assist me to reach to the human rights and say to them to please come hastily and release me.”

Its understandable that married couples should have s-x but not for  3 straight days, that's exhausting.

A nursing mother, Mrs Glory Ojuala, has narrated how her husband, Alex Ojuala, drugged her for three days in order to have s-x with her a few days after she was delivered of a baby at her matrimonial home in Lagos State, western Nigeria.

The mother of three children made the shocking revelation at Ejigbo Customary Court in Lagos State on Monday while testifying before the court following a petition she filed before the court for dissolution of their 15-year marriage.

The nursing mother alleged  that after she took the soft drink, she couldn’t explain what happened afterwards until she was revived in a hospital three days later.

She said that she later knew that her husband drugged her to have sex with her when he confessed that he did so because she was denying him sex and was sleeping with other men.

She told the court that after the incident she moved out of his house and since then they have been living separately, while her husband abandoned their children for her to take care of them alone.

The embittered woman had petitioned the court seeking for the dissolution of their 15-year marriage on the grounds that her husband was threatening her life, did not take care of her and their children and beat her, adding that she does not love him anymore.

BREAKING NEWS: Another Plane Crash Averted

I believe after reading this most Nigerians will see buses as the safest means of travelling.

Barely a month after the Associated Airlines plane crash, another air disaster was averted at the Nnamdi Azikwe Airport, Abuja on Monday as a Med-View Airlines aircraft from Lagos suddenly took to the air again at the point of landing in Abuja.

Reports that the airline Flight VL2104 which had about 150 passengers on board took off from the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos at noon and was scheduled to land in Abuja at about 1.05pm.

The pilot had already announced final descent into Abuja and asked all passengers and cabin crew to fasten their seat belts only for him to suddenly take off to the air again with barely 30 seconds to touch ground.
Definitely, his action caused big panic, commotion among the passengers who bursted into prayers, yells to know what was happening, especially when the plane entered into turbulent weather on air.

A PUNCH correspondent who was among the passengers while telling his story, said that among the passengers were five different complete families.
One of the passengers, a nursing mother, who was breastfeeding her son at the time the pilot took off again withdrew the breast from the boy’s mouth and started praying profusely while the baby’s cry rented the air.

It wasn't until after about three minutes of gaining altitude, the pilot announced that he had decided to take off again to avoid colliding with an aircraft that was on ground.
According to the pilot, after he had been granted clearance to land, it was later discovered that the other aircraft was not fast enough, hence his decision to take off.

The aircraft hovered for another 20 minutes in the air before finally landing at about 1:30pm.

When the plane finally landed, the passengers struggled to disembark.
“Are you still sitting down? Let me rush down in case it will suddenly take off again,” a middle-aged man was heard asking one of his co-passengers.

SHOCKER: Angry Madam Murd-rs Houseboy

Anger...Some people say its a good thing when used for thee right purpose others say there's never any need to get angry cause no state of mind is permanent and anger can do a lot of bad than good.

An Ikeja High Court on Monday sentenced a 27-year-old woman, Chiamaka Nnajiofor, to 10 years imprisonment for her culpability in the de-th of her housekeeper, Oliver Arakwe.

Justice Lateefat Okunnu convicted Nnajiofor for the offence of manslaughter instead of the charge of m-rder preferred against her.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the sentence is to commence from 22 September, 2011, when she was first arraigned.

Nnajiofor and her husband, Elochukwu, 41, were charged to court by the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) on charge of m-rder.

According to the DPP, the couple tortured their 14-year-old Arakwe to de-th on 17 August, 2010 at 81, Femi Tella Street, Ago Palace Way, Okota, a Lagos suburb.

The couple had pleaded not guilty to the charge of m-rder.

Delivering her judgment, Okunnu discharged and acquitted Elochukwu because the prosecution led by Mr Femi Adamson, had failed to connect him with the alleged crime.

According to the judge, the evidential burden against the second defendant is very weak.

She ruled: “There is nothing to show that he was part of the flogging his wife instigated that day, and available evidence indicated that he was not in the apartment when it happened.

“The prosecution also failed to prove the charge of m-rder against Chiamaka beyond reasonable doubts.

“Oliver was a severely malnourished boy and the pounding of the boy with a belt would have had a lesser effect on a normal 14-year-old.

“It is on this basis that I find Chiamaka, the first defendant, not guilty of m-rder. I find her guilty of manslaughter.

“The second defendant, Elochukwu, is discharged and acquitted.”

Its been quite long since I heard a Nigerian doing something really good outside the country, why do they always have to represent the country badly.

A Nigerian night club bouncer has been jailed for seven years in the UK for molesting a woman in her own home. Idreez Popoola (pictured above), who twice dodged deportation, brutally attacked his victim on 29th December 2012, eleven months after he successful appealed his deportation ruling.

Prosecutors said Popoola met his victim while working as an agency-employed bouncer outside Bar So in Northampton town centre. He took her out for drinks then managed to convince the woman to take him back to her home. It was in her home that he attacked her.

Popoola, 34, was jailed for seven years at a court in Northampton on October 18. He was also ordered to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for life. The court told him he would be automatically deported back to Nigeria on his release from prison.

Lagos Ranked World’s 4th Worst City

Everywhere I turn its either Nigeria this or Nigeria that, well it shows we're meant to be doing better than our current form, truth is we all need to improve in the country, every individual in the country.

Lagos is the fourth worst city in the world, Economist Intelligence Unit, EIU, an independent forecasting and advisory business within the Economist Group has said. And its top worst cities, are scattered around Africa and Asia.

Lagos, the fourth on the list, shares its 137 position with Port Moresby, in Papua New Guinea on 38.9 per cent. The report made available yesterday described it as the second-fastest growing city in Africa and the fourth worst city on earth.

“Rapid growth is not always a good thing because Lagos is now a magnet for two perpetual threats to peace: pirates and Islamist warriors. Boko Haram have a problem with cities like Lagos and also lots of weaponry. Pirates threaten trade and use kidnapping as a method of funding. Islamist terrorist groups such as Boko Haram (“Education is forbidden”) want to create their own version of heaven on earth by destroying cities such as Lagos and imposing strict sharia law.

Lagos has enormous potential but as yet little to show for it – hence its poor ranking,” the report said. EIU in its 2013 annual survey of the world’s 140 major metropolises, said Lagos has a long way to go politically, socially and economically before it joins the emerging market club.

Nollywood Stars Campaign For President Jonathan’s Reelection

A team of Nollywood stars, yesterday in Abuja, met with the National Chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) ,Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, to work out the modality issues in the country.

The project is planned to include ‘peace’ rallies and concerts in the six geo-political zones, according to leader of the delegation, Emeka Ike.

It is expected to be in collaboration with celebrities in the music industry and Nigerian footballers.

The organisers said the rallies would be geared toward addressing the drifting socio-political situation in the country.

Ike told the party chairman that the stars would mobilise Nigerian youths on the need for togetherness and peaceful coexistence in the country, most especially at the grassroots.

The artists said the planned rallies would also focus on the need for the PDP to resolve its internal crises so that the ruling party could focus on governance in the interest of the Nigerian people.

According to them, a module has been developed for infusing the culture of responsiveness and national interest in political office holders in the land.

The event, they added, would also feature renowned footballers like Celestine Babayaro and music stars like 2-Face Idibia.

The rallies will be preceded by a press conference in Abuja on Monday followed by mobilisation of Nollywood and football stars to Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, which has been the epicentre of the Boko Haram insurgency.

Ike said: “We would round off by mobilising the Nigerian youths, including Nollywood, football and music stars in our country to Maiduguri to campaign for peace”.

Tukur expressed delight in the move by the stars to champion the cause of peace and national reconciliation in the country and urged other Nigerian youths to join the train.

The party chairman said he was of the conviction that the stars could repackage Nigeria for a better image, stressing that the country was in dire need of such packaging at this point in history.

He encouraged the stars to embark on the planned rally and promised to lend the required inspiration towards the success of the rally.

“I am aware that you people have conquered Africa because your movies are being watched across Africa and the rest of the world. “Today, I want to encourage you to take ownership of your successes and move over to be global citizens,”the chairman said.

A pro-government rally took place on October 6 at the Murtala Muhammed Square in Kaduna to solicit support for President Goodluck Jonathan’s alleged bid to contest the 2015 election.

However, the gathering tagged Northern Youth Rally ended in chaos after the participants began demanding their “share of the money,” the organisers allegedly collected from the presidency.

Security operatives took away an official of the Northern Youth Forum (NYF) from the venue to prevent him from being lynched by the angry youths who threw sand, stones and sachet water at him.

The youths shouted: “Give us our own share, give us our own share.”

On August 25, the First Lady, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, locked down the Federal Capital Territory metropolis with what she described as a mass rally and carnival organised to take “stock of the gains recorded so far in the empowerment of Nigerian women and the quest for peace in the country”.

The rally was the brain child of the National Council of Women Societies (NCWS) in collaboration with the office of the First Lady of the Federation.

The programme was organised as part of the ongoing underground campaign for President Jonathan’s 2015 presidential ambition.

The women wore dresses with pictures of President Jonathan .
