Zambia Get A White President Following Michael Sata's Death

Guy Scott, pictured above with his wife and the Obamas, was sworn in yesterday as the interim president of Zambia following the death of Zambian president Michael Sata yesterday October 28th.

This makes Mr Scott, who is of Scottish descent but born in Zambia, the first white president in Africa since apartheid.

Guy Scott, 70, became vice-president of Zambia in 2011 and will serve as interim-president pending when the country holds fresh elections for a new president within 90 days. The Zambian constitution makes it impossible for Scott to be president because his parents were not born in Zambia.

Lawyer Festus Keyamo Cries Out To SSS And IGP, Says Tompolo Wants To Kill Him

Lawyer and human rights activist Festus Keyamo sent a petition to the IG of Police and SSS from about an alleged threat to his life. Read below...

Threat to kill Mr. Festus Keyamo by Mr. Government Ekpemupolo (Alias Tompolo)
My name is Festus Keyamo. I am a Nigerian citizen and a senior member of the legal profession in Nigeria.
At exactly 10:13pm on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, I received a telephone call from one Mr. Government Ekpemupolo (alias Tompolo) with phone number (I removed the number). We have been acquaintances in the past, so I know his numbers. After reaffirming that he is Tompolo when I picked his call, he went straight to the point by informing me that he wishes to inform me that he and his “boys” will kill me by beating me to death or shooting me anywhere they can find me. And that the hunt for me is on. His exact words in pidgin English was “we dey look for you. Anywhere we see you, whether for Lagos or Abuja or Warri, we go beat you die or we go shoot you.”

He said he would kill me because I have decided to take up the matter involving his blood brother, Mr. George Ekpemupolo, who was used to illegally substitute another candidate, Mr. Weyinmi Omadeli (48 hours to the election) in the Warri South-West L.G.A elections that were concluded last Saturday in Delta State. He said no one has ever challenged his authority in Delta State. Kindly find attached the open letter I wrote to Governor Uduaghan of Delta State yesterday which has sparked Tompolo’s determination to kill me.

I asked Tompolo FIVE TIMES whether, he was, in fact, threatening my life over an open line and he said nobody in the country can do anything about it by the time I am dead.

Co-incidentally, exactly three minutes after Tompolo dropped his line, His Excellency, Governor Udaughan called me at exactly 10.16pm, and I reported to him what just transpired between Tompolo and myself. The Governor promised to speak with him, but that cannot be reassuring enough, and I know the remedy in law against an intended murderer is not to beg him but to ignite the criminal justice system against him, no matter how comatose that system is.

I know the subject of this petition, Tompolo, is a favoured citizen of this government, and I am not. I know Tompolo is close to those in power at the moment, whereas I am an ordinary citizen. I know Tompolo has money and influence (which are factors that are widely acknowledged to aid a suspect walk away with murder in Nigeria), but I have none of these. I know Tompolo has instrument to kill human beings, and I have none.
In the circumstance, I am making this petition public so that when you refuse to attend to my complaint and outcry, the ordinary people of this country will, at least, know from where my death came and I will not join the long list of unresolved murders. My killer, should, at least be known.
Thank you for, at least, reading my petition.
Yours sincerely,

FESTUS KEYAMO, ESQ.

EFCC Arraigns Three Men For N93m Loan Scam - Report

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday October 27, 2014 arraigned the trio of Ibrahim Abubakar, Abubakar Maigaskiya and Bashir Musa before Justice Faruk Lawal of Kano State High Court on two separate charges bordering on conspiracy to obtain money by false pretence.

While the 1st accused, Ibrahim Abubakar was docked on a 13-count charge, the duo of Abubakar Maigaskiya and Bashir Musa were slammed with a 2-count charge.

The accused persons alongside three others currently at large were alleged to have sometime in June 2009 conspired among themselves and forged documents purportedly emanating from the Federal Medical Centre, Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State, for use in obtaining a N93million loan facility from a new generation bank.

The other suspects are Aminu Garba Gulma, Muhammed Surajo and Yunusa Abdullahi. Because of their absence in court, the charge had to be separated to facilitate the speedy trial of the accused persons that were ready for trial.

While moving the motion to split the charge, the prosecution counsel, M.S Abubakar submitted that in order not to continue delaying the trial of the accused persons present in court and for the purpose of fair hearing the 1st, 5th and 6th accused persons should be tried separately pending the appearance of the other accused persons.

Counsel to the1st accused person M.E Sheriff and counsel to 5th and 6th accused persons did not object to the motion.

The three accused however pleaded not guilty when the charges were read to them.

They were however remanded in prison custody pending hearing of their bail applications. The case was adjourned to October 31, 2014. Source

"Boko Haram R*ped And Beat Us" – Abducted Girls Narrate Their Ordeals

Some girls and women who managed to regain their freedom after been abducted by Nigerian Islamist group Boko Haram have described their shocking life in captivity in a harrowing new report by Human Rights Watch that was published yesterday.

In the 63-page report, entitled "'Those Terrible Weeks in Their Camp': Boko Haram Violence against Women and Girls in Northeast Nigeria," 47 witnesses and victims, including some of the 276 Chibok girls kidnapped in April described forced marriages and, if they were Christian, orders to convert to Islam or be executed.

A 15-year-old girl who was held in a Boko Haram camp for four weeks in 2013 spoke of how she was forced to marry a militant more than twice her age:
“After we were declared married I was ordered to live in his cave but I always managed
to avoid him. He soon began to threaten me with a knife to have s*x with him, and when I still refused he brought out his gun, warning that he would kill me if I shouted.

Then he began to r*pe me every night. He was a huge man in his mid-30s and I had never had s*x before. It was very painful and I cried bitterly because I was bleeding afterwards.”

A 19-year-old who was r*ped said:
“I could not tell anyone what happened, not even my husband. I still feel so ashamed and cheated.”

Another woman with her, who was also r*ped, “vowed never to speak of it again as she was single and believes that news of her r*pe would foreclose her chances of marriage”.

The majority of abductions by Boko Haram were of Christian women and girls, and many of HRW’s interviewees described being threatened with death or violence if they refused to convert to Islam. One woman said:
“I was dragged to the camp leader who told me the reason I was brought to the camp was because we Christians worship three gods. When I objected to his claim, he tied a rope around my neck and beat me with a plastic cable until I almost passed out. An insurgent who I recognised from my village convinced me to accept Islam lest I should be killed. So I agreed.”

Some abducted women and girls described forced labour and participation in military operations. A 19-year-old said:
“I was told to approach a group of five men we saw in a nearby village and lure them to where the insurgents were hiding.” She told the young men that she needed help. “When they followed me for a short distance, the insurgents swooped on them. Once we got back to the camp, they tied the legs and the hands of the captives and slit the throats of four of them as they shouted ‘Allahu Akbar’. Then I was handed a knife to kill the last man. I was shaking with horror and couldn’t do it. The camp leader’s wife took the knife and killed him.”

Many of those interviewed by HRW showed signs of stress and anguish, according to the report, although only the Chibok girls had been offered limited counselling. One 15-year-old girl said:
“I could not stop crying even when the insurgents threatened to kill me if I did not keep quiet. I kept on thinking, is it not better to die now than to face whatever terrible things they could do to me when we get to their camp? Even after I escaped from them and live far away from my village, I am still afraid. I think of death many times. My father tries. He encourages me to forget everything, but it is not easy for me. I have terrible dreams at night.”

All of those interviewed by HRW said more could have been done by government security forces to prevent abductions and respond more quickly when they happened. The organisation calls on the Nigerian authorities to investigate and prosecute those who commit serious crimes, to protect schools and the right to education, and ensure access to medical and mental health services for victims of abductions. Source

Gov. Rotimi Amaechi Reacts To Presidential Statement, Warns Reuben Abati

Governor of Rivers state Rotimi Amaechi, has reacted to yesterday's statement from the presidency where he was told to stop political rascality and blackmail.

Speaking through the state's Commissioner for Information, Ibim Semenitari, Governor Amaechi said there was never a time he discussed the First lady, Dame Patience Jonathan.

He also described Presidential Spokesman, Reuben Abati as the rascality within the Presidency. In his word:
"I would want to say that the Presidential Spokesman should be careful for the kind of threats he issues to an elected Governor. He should remember that the President is not a prefect of the governor. He was elected as President just as the Governor was elected as a governor, and Nigeria is a federation. And please, Abati should know his limits and need not attempt to cross his boundaries.

"It is a bit strange to hear the kind of comments coming out of the Presidency and this shows that the statement was already prepared before governor Amaechi spoke. At no point in his speech did Governor Amaechi make any references. His wife was not even discussed because she is not an official of government. I do not understand where or how Mr. Abati got his story, so we just take it that this is one of those clear indications of rascality within the Presidency trying to call a dog a bad name and hang it”.

Photo : Abandoned Kids Reunite With Their Father After Eight Years(Photo)

Eight years after abandoning his kids at a boarding school in Ogun State, emotions ran wild on Friday last week when Segun Adepegba finally visited the school again to reunite with his children.

Earlier Last week, PUNCH Metro had exclusively reported the story of the abandoned children, Seun, 14, Titilola 13, and Seyi 10. The story reached its climax when Adepegba bowed to pressure and identified himself. Last Friday, he visited Solid Rock Model College.

The news of his arrival, Punch now reports, attracted passers-by and residents who trooped into the school compound to see him. When he arrived, an angry mob was prevented from attacking him when they learnt he was the father of the “abandoned children.” The father of three was accompanied by four friends who pleaded on his behalf, saying that he was a changed person. On sighting his kids, Segun was said to have held them in a tight embrace, promising never to leave them again.
Adepegba told his children:
“I am sorry for leaving you, Titi, Seun and Seyi. I am really very sorry. I have missed you all so much. I will not leave you again.”

Many were greatly moved as father and children bonded in what they described as “a mystery and a miracle.” The students of the school also gathered in groups, discussing the story. They were all smiles seeing their friends reunited with their father.

A friend of the school proprietor, Mr. Ademola Adeyemi , described Adepegba’s return as a miracle, saying he had held vigils to ensure that he returned. “This has shown that God truly answers prayers, “he said.

This moment of joy and reminiscence, however, lasted for a short time as the staff of the school and the residents swooped on Adepegba, blasting him for abandoning his children. A mild drama ensued when an aged sports facilitator in the school, Godfrey Olopele, who sighted Adepegba from the gate, asked:

“Is this the father of the children?” When told it was him, he said, “I have some words for this man. You have not done well. You are very wicked. How could you abandon your children for so long?”

Adepegba’s friends, who spoke with PUNCH Metro, said he never told them he had children in a boarding school. One of them, identified as Mr. Muyiwa Akinseye, said:
“I have known Adepegba for a very long time but I never knew that he had children somewhere. It was until I saw his photograph in the PUNCH that I was shocked to know that my friend had some children somewhere. He had never mentioned a thing like that. I still wondered why he kept something as important as this from me.”
Another friend of Adepegba, identified as Ola, said:
“I am a father and I can’t leave my child for that long. Adepegba’s behaviour is really condemnable. When I saw his picture on the PUNCH front page, I had jokingly told him, ‘Adepegba, you have become a superstar. So you have children somewhere?’ I was surprised.”
Adepegba swallowed the rebuke in penitence, prostrating himself intermittently before a crowd in the expansive hall of the school.
He said:
“I have offended a lot of people. I have offended my children. I have offended Nigerians. I accept all the blame. And I am really very sorry. I understand that what I have done is very wrong. I was afraid of two things: One was that if I came here, I would be arrested and the second reason was the accumulated debt of the children’s school fees. I reasoned that if I should come to the school, I would be handed over to the police.

I really miss my children and this time around, I am going to change. I want them to have a good educational background so that they can become important persons in the future. I don’t want them to suffer. I will never leave them again. But all these years, I have been battling with hard times. Things have been very tough for me.

His excuse, however, seemed to aggravate the issue, as more people chided him for his negligence. The Chairman, Parent-Teacher Association of the school, Mr Busari, urged Adepegba to seek the face of God in prayers.
He said:
“I advise you to lock up yourself for three days in deep prayers. It is only then that God will open doors for you. You have committed a grievous offence. You have put the proprietor of the school and residents of the neighbourhood into trouble with your untoward behaviour. It is only after doing this that God would forgive you and open doors for you.”

A teacher, Mrs Grace Ajayi, described Adepegba as a bad example of a father. She urged him to look for his wife and reconcile with her. She said it was unfortunate that while many couples were praying to have children, Adepegba chose to abandon his.

Recounting his ordeal, the school proprietor, Mr Samuel Ayegbusi, said he suffered in the hands of the police when Titilola ran away from the school.

“When Titilola ran away from the school and I went to report the matter at the Sango Ota Police Division, the police arrested me, saying I was the first suspect . The matter caused trouble in this community and the issue dented my image. I was forced to cough out close to N50,000 to be bailed,” he said.

Adepegba, however, promised to visit the children regularly. Although Adepegba’s children were relieved that their father was back, they told PUNCH Metro that they were still longing to meet their mother. Seun, the eldest, expressed his joy on the fact that he would not have to spend the holidays in the school hostel while Seyi, the youngest, asked her father to buy her a gift.
Titilola said:
“I am very excited that my father is back. All I can say is that I am happy. But I want to see my mother too.”

Adepegba told PUNCH that he would look for their mother. He said her name is Ruth Okochi from Ogwashi-Uku in the Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State.
“I know a place she lives in Abuja but I am not sure if she still lives there. I owe it a responsibility to find her for the sake of my children,” he said. Source

Boko Haram Men Reportedly Abducts 30 Boys & Girls In Fresh Attack

According to new reports by AFP, around 30 adolescents, some of them girls aged as young as 11, have been abducted in northeast Nigeria by suspected Boko Haram rebels.

"The insurgents grabbed young people, boys and girls, from our region," said Alhaji Shettima Maina, who is in charge of the Mafa village around 50 kilometres (30 miles) east of Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state.
"They took all boys aged 13 and over... and all girls aged 11 and more. According to our information, 30 young people were abducted in the last two days."

Another village elder, Mallam Ashiekh Mustapha, confirmed the account. Both men said 17 people were also killed in recent days in a Boko Haram attack on the nearby village of Ndongo. Boko Haram, which has been waging a bloody insurgency since 2009, has been responsible for waves of attacks and abductions.

In April, the Islamist rebel group snatched more than 200 schoolgirls from Chibok in northeast Nigeria, triggering an international outcry. Kidnapping young women and girls -- as well as forcibly conscripting young men and boys to fight for Boko Haram -- is a well-established tactic by the militants. Some estimates put the number of women held by the group in the high hundreds. Most are believed to be forced into marriages with rebels.

The latest kidnapping comes despite the Nigerian government declaring a truce with the insurgents and the army retaking control of Abadam in the north-east on Saturday, according to a senior security official in the region. But local chief Maina said his village and areas around it were targeted in nearly daily raids by Boko Haram, and many residents have fled to Maiduguri "for fear of being killed or losing their children". He said he had pleaded for help from the Nigerian government but that so far none had been forthcoming. Source

"Stop Your Political Rascality & Blackmail" - Presidency Warns Governor Rotimi Amaechi

Recently, outspoken Rivers State governor Rotimi Amaechi said the reason he and the First Lady Patience Jonathan fell out was because refused to share the state's money with her.

The presidency far from pleased with his statement has responded, saying that Amaechi's day of reckoning is coming, that the immunity he enjoys now as governor will not be forever. Read the State House press release below...

Governor Rotimi Amaechi took his obnoxious willingness to denigrate the highest office in the land in a reckless bid to advance his selfish political interests to a new level of irresponsible and rascally behaviour yesterday in Port Harcourt with his totally false and baseless vituperations against President Jonathan, the First Lady and the Federal Government.

It appears from the Governor's completely unfounded and off-the-mark allegations that he had totally lost all sense of propriety, decorum and responsible political behaviour and resorted to unacceptable demagoguery, libel, blackmail and incitement of public disorder.

Unless his unbridled ambition and desire for self- promotion have completely befuddled his mental faculties and caused him to totally lose touch with reality, Governor Amaechi must know that his claims and allegations are untrue.

We can only assume therefore that he is deliberately spewing malicious falsehood in a desperate effort to incite the people of Rivers State and Nigeria against his assumed political foes.

We warn him that there are legal, constitutional and moral limits to political rascality beyond which he will not be allowed to go without repercussions.

The immunity which he currently enjoys notwithstanding, Governor Amaechi should be under no illusions:  A day of reckoning will surely come when he will answer for all his actions and false allegations against President Jonathan, the First Lady and the Federal Government.

He should also know that Nigerians are aware of the truth and will never be fooled or swayed by his arrant opportunism and anti-Jonathan rantings.

Nigerians know that while Mr. Amaechi falsely accuses others of corruption, he cannot show or explain to the people of Rivers State what he has done with the billions of Naira that has accrued to the state under his tenure.

They also know that while Amaechi continues to falsely accuse the Jonathan Administration of having done nothing for Rivers State, he has recklessly squandered huge state resources on dubious, vain-glorious projects or self aggrandizement.

Nigerians will know too that while he falsely alleges that Rivers and other states have not received funds due to them from the Federation account, the only outstanding allocation was for September, which was released to all states well over a week ago.

The Governor should stop trying to make President Jonathan the scapegoat for his woeful performance in Rivers State and look to his own very apparent failings and incompetencies.

He should also stop blackmailing the First Lady who has demanded nothing from him other than good governance, justice, equity, fairness, real development and progress in Rivers State.

Special Adviser to the President

The use of motorcycles as commercial means of transport in Nigeria, popularly known as ‘Okada’ or ‘Achaba’ may soon be history throughout the country.

According to reports, the proposal for the ban has been made by the National Council on Transport after its annual conference in Enugu State and endorsed by the Minister of Transport, Sen. Idris Umar.

A statement from the Federal Ministry of Transport on Saturday evening stated that the ban of commercial motorcycle was one of the measures proposed towards adequate provision of safety and secure transportation in Nigeria. It said the recommendation was contained in a statement of the week long meeting which had in attendance all the state commissioners of transport, permanent secretaries, directors and officials in the federal and state ministries of transport across the country.

The council advised all states in the federation to henceforth discourage the use of commercial motorcycles as a means of public transportation.

“All states and the Federal Capital Territory have therefore been advised to establish a public transport system that ensure strict regulation of the operation of public passenger transportation system through a well-articulated management system for enhanced safety, security, effective and efficient service delivery,” the statement said.

It added:
“The states are to also develop master plans for the development of intelligent transport system to facilitate the development and management of their transport operations in line with emerging trends and global best practices.”

The statement noted that the council also agreed that all commercial vehicles should be properly registered in each state while their enumeration should be carried out periodically to enhance safety and security.

"I Fell Out With First Lady Patience Jonathan Because I Refused To Share Rivers State's Money With Her" - Gov. Amaechi Says

The governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Amaechi says the major reason he and the first lady, Dame Patience Jonathan her at loggerheads is because he refused to share the state money with her.

The ever outspoken governor Amaechi said this yesterday October 24th at the graduation ceremony of the Pioneer graduands of the Ignatus Ajuru University of Education held at Rumuolumeni in Rivers state. He said:

"Remember, when I became governor, I fought militancy. Right there where you built a new house used to be a hole where they pass into the river nd escape. The security report reached me and I came here and chased the militants away. I asked them to fence the school premises and block the hole. I have to protect you because it is my responsibility. Some of the militants went to Lagos, Ivory Coast, Ghana etc. Today, they are back because the wife of the President bought them back to protest against me."

I refused to give them money in Abuja because if I do that, I won't be able to carry out any developmental projects or finish the road from Rumuolumeni to Rumuepirikom. The quarel between me and the wife of the Preseident is because she said I should bring your money, Rivers peoples money and share with her" Governor Amaechi alleges
Governor Amaechi is also quoted to have told the graduands that should they vote for President Jonathan back into power in next year's general elections, rivers state's economy would crumble.

"Now that you are graduates, you are eligible voters that can use your voters card to change society. Ask yourself this question that I have always asked Rivers people. What have we (Rivers people) done to President Jonathan that he has refused to bring any project to Rivers state. We had to fight them before they could do the East-West road.

I had to abuse the federal government and they abused me back before they could do the work you now see on that road. Our President, from the South-South, has taken oil wells from Soku in Rivers state to Bayelsa state. What about the 41 oil wells in Etche that was given to Abia state? Is the President or his wife from Abia? Why do they want us to suffer? If President Jonathan comes back to power in 2015, Rivers state economy will crash" he concluded.

Wicked!: Why I Killed My Friend Over N7m Debt

A man, Abdulahi Bello has narrated to police in Abuja how he employed the services of a spiritualist and some hoodlums to stab his long-time friend, Awwal Unar to death for his inability to pay Awwal a N7 million debt he was owing him.

Awwal Unar, a 26-year old Baze University student union leader, had given a N7 million loan to his friend, Bello, over a period of time. But each time he demanded for refund, Bello would come up with one form of excuse or the other.

ThisDay reports that when the pressure Awwal was mounting on Bello became unbearable, Bello decided to contact a spiritualist, one Lawal Saleh in Katsina, who prepared some concoctions that would make Awwal forget about the money. Unfortunately, the fetish concoction had little or no effect on Awwal and he continued to mount pressure on his friend to pay back the money. The pressure was so much that Bello said he got sick and tired and decided to end it once and for all.

Paraded by Federal Capital Territory Police in Abuja, Bello confessed to have contacted the same spiritualist in Katsina, who came up with how the ‘embarrassment’ would end forever. According to the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Wilson Inalegwu, Bello masterminded the crime after he could not refund the N7m loan and could not hypnotise Awwal to forget the loan.

Inalegwu told journalists:
To act as an advice and warning to parents, we had a sad case of one Awwal. Awwal used to be a student of Baze University in Abuja. He was an elected student union leader and was aged 26. On the 2nd of October when he was just 33 days married, he took his wife to the father in law’s house and told them that he was going to Keffi Road to purchase Sallah Ram.

He left in the afternoon and by the evening, about 9.30 pm that day he made his last phone call to his parents that he had bought the ram and he was coming back home. That was the last contact they had with him. The parents became worried. So, on the third day, they got a mysterious phone call from an individual by the name Suleiman, that he found the phone by the side of Awwal. So the father got worried and of course, the wife.
On the 6th of October, a call was made directly to this command and we got our crack team to set the motion for investigation. From the call log and all that, we made arrest. When we made arrest, we discovered that one Abdullahi who was staying in the same house with this Awwal, had over a period of time, collected about N7m from Awwal and couldn’t pay back.

He now engaged a spiritualist to divert the attention of Awwal from demanding for his money but the Juju couldn’t work. Awwal continued to demand for his money. So Abdullahi came with a plot. He told Awwal that he gave the money to a spiritualist in Kankara, Katsina State, and that they should go there so that they can double the money and he’ll get his money. Unknown to Awwal, a plan had been hatched to kill
him."

Awwal was said to have taken his car, a Toyota Yari, and drove Abdullahi from Abuja to Katsina.

“He had told his wife and relations that he was going to Keffi, but he never went to Keffi. He drove straight to Zaria, spent the night in Zaria and continued to Katsina and to Kankara. When they got there, Abdullahi and the spiritualist had engaged some individuals for the criminal job. So, they drove Awwal to a stream. This time, it was getting late at about 7.30 and there as they alighted from his car, some people already waiting in the bush, sprang out and started to beat him.

They used machete and sticks, on him until his last breath. So, when they killed him, nobody knew, everybody thought he would still be alive. But through diligent investigation, we got our crack team of detectives and the phone log and all the rest, we started making arrests. We made 12 arrests. From the arrest, through interrogation, the spiritualist confessed that indeed, Abdullahi had brought Awwal and they killed him,” Inalegwu said.

The suspects told police where they had buried Awwal in a shallow grave and took police operatives to recover the mutilated body which the police said had over 36 lacerations. The CP said a post mortem was conducted on the deceased before he was buried.

Meanwhile, Abdullahi was said to have converted Awwal’s car and repainted it for his personal use. He also used the proceeds of the loan to build a house which the police said they have also located.

The CP, who advised parents to know the company that their wards keep, adding the police were closing in on Suleiman who made a phone call and other people that hide in the bush to cause this mayhem. The suspects who fielded questions from journalists confessed to the crime. Source

First Lady Patience Jonathan Resigns Her Position As 'Super' Permanent Secretary In Bayelsa State

The first lady Dame Patience Jonathan has resigned her appointment as 'Super' Permanent Secretary in the Bayelsa state Civil service, a position conferred on her back in July 2012 by the Governor of the state, Dickson Seriake. Seriake said he gave the appointment to Mama Peace based on her good service to the state and nation.

A source in the state Ministry of Education who pleaded anonymity with The Nation confirmed the First Lady's voluntary resignation and said her resignation may likely not be unconnected to her deepening rift with the state governor.

"The whole thing is political. It appears Madam Peace is not happy with the governor. With her resignation, the battle line has been drawn. I feel the President’s wife resigned to enable her to have the moral right to slug it out with Dickson ahead of the governorship poll in the state. Let no one deceive you, the whole thing is politics. After all, she is 57 and the retirement age is 60.” he said
The source also said that all her terminal benefits are been processed at the moment.
